Don’t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?

moon

(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, that’d be kinda cool)

Well, that’s what happened yesterday 🙂

package

First I was excited to see a package that didn’t have the Amazon smiley face on it –those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw “perishable food” and things got even more ridic.

cookies5

A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam 🙂

Carol’s cookies, Garrett’s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldn’t open the popcorn fast enough….

and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.

Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone else… so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterday’s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought I’d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

image image

Winner’s choice: Insanity or Turbofire

You can read my reviews in the links above and decide whether you would prefer a drill-based high-impact workout, or a dance meets kickbox high-energy workout. It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

All ya have to do:

-Leave a comment with your favorite at-home workout option

(If it’s your first time commenting, I’ll be approving those throughout the day, so no worries if it doesn’t show up right away)

This giveaway is sponsored by Livi and Bella- the winner will be chosen tonight at midnight EST and announced tomorrow am.

To sweeten the deal:

roons

Hope you have an amazing humpday!

See ya later with a Family post.

xoxo

I love, love Physique 57 DVDs! I have been needing to add more cardio to the pot (I usually do a Tracy Anderson dance cardio DVD) so Turbofire would be an amazing addition to my at-home fitness drawer! Thank you so much for the giveaway!

P90X was my first at-home workout phase. I had tried a few videos but that was the first I had truly committed to a program and loved the results!

  6. Laura on March 7, 2012 at 11:27 am

I love strength training at home with workout DVDs – anything from 10 Minute Solution to Jackie Warner or Jillian Michaels!

  7. Conni on March 7, 2012 at 11:27 am

My favorite at home workout is definitely yoga. Between various yoga websites and the ever awesome youtube. I can take so many classes for little to no cost! Not to mention class times always work with my schedule this way. Awesome for an crazy busy and broke college kid!

  8. Lee on March 7, 2012 at 11:27 am

Eeeeek! Hmmmm…..I hardly ever work out at home because I have no good dvd’s. So, I usually just go for a walk. However, I’ve been dying to try turbo fire ever since you posted that video of you doing it, looks so fun!

  9. Emily on March 7, 2012 at 11:27 am

  13. Maggie on March 7, 2012 at 11:28 am

Thank you Livi and Bella! 🙂 My fav home workout is yoga. It helps me destress from the craziness that is my job. If I have enough energy, though, I will put on a Zumba video and dance, dance, dance! 🙂

  14. Courtney on March 7, 2012 at 11:28 am

I’ve been dying to try Insanity – I’ve heard it’s INTENSE! I’m studying to become a personal trainer and honestly, since I’m at the gym a decent amount, my favorite at-home workout is a relaxing yoga flow. 🙂

  15. Meg on March 7, 2012 at 11:28 am

I would LOVE the Insanity workout set. I’m a runner and a new mom, and having the Insanity would be perfect cross-training during my babe’s naptime (or bedtime!). I also Bodyrock and LOVE that too 🙂

  16. lauren on March 7, 2012 at 11:28 am

  23. Carly on March 7, 2012 at 11:29 am

I have been dying to try Turbo Fire ever since I first saw you blog about it! I was a fan of Chalene in my college days – my roommates and I were big fans of Turbo Jam. (Probably did the same video 50 times, we could recite every line). She’s just so fun and upbeat and inspiring!!! 🙂 Right now my favorite DVD is Physique 57 which also, was inspired by you 🙂

  27. Amelia on March 7, 2012 at 11:29 am

Holy moly, what a fantastic giveaway! Thanks Liv & Bell 😉

I have only ever done Jillian, Bodyrock.tv, and YOUR at home workouts. Bodyrock looks doable, then you get into it and think, “um, yeah right.” Same with your workouts. They kick my bootay!!! Biscuits = burnt to a crisp!

I have been contemplating Insanity since last year, but have yet to give it a go! I think my husband would like it too.

  28. Michelle on March 7, 2012 at 11:30 am

Ooooh, this is awesome, Gina! Thanks for paying it forward 🙂

  33. Amanda M. on March 7, 2012 at 11:30 am

I LOVE Zuzana Light’s ZWOWs! I loved her on Bodyrock and was so sad when she left. She is a fantastic motivator!

  34. jennifer on March 7, 2012 at 11:30 am

My favorite at home workout right now is making up a cardio circuit to get my heart pumping! I would love to try turbofire to shed some post baby weight!

  35. Ashley c on March 7, 2012 at 11:30 am

My favorite at home cardio is ANY dance without, for example dwts, zumba, etc….that way I still feel like I got a workout in, but had a good time shaking it to the great music. I also love free weights and my stability ball…as my six and a half month Preggo belly gets in the way sometimes! Lol

  36. Dandi on March 7, 2012 at 11:30 am

I really enjoy BodyRock, SarahFit, and TIU workouts. Love your blog and your cute little family 🙂

  37. Amanda on March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

Bob Harper DVDs. He is nice to look at and pushes you farther than you think you can go! He’s got a great “yoga for the warrior” that is intense.

  38. Claudia on March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

I loved bodyrock when zuzana was still there!! I still like the older workouts with her and now I like her ZWOWs 🙂 she is so inspiring! Have a great day!

  39. Jen G. on March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

I have an elliptical at home, which is great, since I can work out while watching TV. My favorite DVDs are Jackie Warner DVDs (her abs are great inspiration!), AeroBarre (boxing + ballet), and Yogilates. I’d love to get something higher intensity — after this sprained ankle heals 🙁 –with Insanity!

  40. Brittany on March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

My favorite at home workout is the short video that you made. It is a little cardio blast and I absolutely LOVE it. If you ever had the time to make another one, I promise to do it religiously!

  41. Mia on March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

I love Zumba & Just Dance on the Wii!! It doesn’t even feel like a workout 😉 I have been dyyying to try Insanity!

  42. Roopa Chari on March 7, 2012 at 11:31 am

  43. Valerie on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am

I usually do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred or something from Yoga Download, but I have been eyeing TurboFire for a looooong time! Something new and fun would be perfect motivation to up the intensity!

  44. Jenni Krahn on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am

Jillian Michaels’ yoga DVDs all the way but would love to step up my game with some Insanity. Keep spreading the love (DVD and ‘roon love that is!)

  45. Ashley on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am

I really enjoy Body by Bethenny Frankel dvds as well as POP pilates! 🙂

  46. Renee on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am

I prefer to walk or jog outside, if possible. But if the weather does not cooperate, I usually do a Jillian Michaels’ DVD at home. I’d love to try the Turbo Fire workouts.

  47. Lindsey D. on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am

I, too, can’t afford a gym membership in DC and the base here doesn’t have a mommy workout room or drop-in childcare (bummer!) So that leaves me to workout at home. Lately, I have been loving the Tone It Up girls’ workouts and Zumba for Wii! But, I have been begging the hubby to get me TurboFire because it looks like SO much fun! 🙂

  48. Jen on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am

I’m a big fan of yoga at home – if I want weights and cardio I go to the gym.

  49. Krystina (Krystina Zena) on March 7, 2012 at 11:32 am
