Such a Jokester

Hi guys 😀 Hope you’re having a great weekend so far!

The mung bean pasta was AMAZING.

mung beans

I packed it up with a tablespoon of nutritional yeast and munched it in between appointments. I still can’t believe that bowl of noodles and nooch had 35 g of protein. Wowza!

Also, a salad:

It was a lovely meal.

I do have to say though, I almost didn’t make it through all of my training appointments today. By the last one, I thought I was going to have to cut it short, come home and crash. Here I was, thinking I was totally better this morning, and when this afternoon came I felt a million times worse. Such a jokester :/ The entire time I was at the gym I was aching and freezing. No fun 🙁

Chocolate makes everything better:

evil

Remember the glorious chocolate agave sauce Katie sent me? I swirled some with raw almond butter on top of millet toast. No words 😉

Then I proceeded to crawl onto the couch with the puppers and sleep for 3 hours.

When I finally felt ok enough to move around, I meandered to the kitchen for some enzymes and vitamins.

green

A giant green juice with 2 green apples, an anjou pear, 1/2 lemon, lots of spinach, parsley and spirulina.

The pilot stopped at Wizzle to grab some Emergen-C for me, too.

save me

Why hello doctor….

pilot

That seksi face is enough to make me feel better 😉

The raw chocolate tarts are ready for tomorrow’s dinner party:

They’re chillin’ in the freezer and I’m thinking of making some hot tea and calling it an early night.

Today is my second day in a row of not doing any cardio—I can’t even remember the last time I took two days off. I also can’t remember the last time I was sick, so I’m gonna take it easy for now.

Exciting things coming up:

Winter Shape Up Week 4 workout will be posted Monday (we’re going to SUPERSETS)

Giveaway on Monday

-Very exciting news coming atcha next week. Hint: It involves macaroons.

Have a great night and I’ll see ya tomorrow with party prep stuff 😀

xoxo,

Gina

I hope you feel better! You need to get some rest, let your body relax and come back strong once you feel up for it. I’m excited to see what’s coming up on Monday. Take it easy this weekend and thanks for all the great workout and nutrition advice. I always see what you have goin’ on and refer back to older post. Get better soon!

Aww, I’m sorry to hear you’re sick! That’s the worst when you can’t even go to the gym, or do much for that matter. At least you’re still finding time to make yummy looking eats 🙂

Totally pumped for the supersets on monday, I’ve been wanting to get into them and have heard good things!

  9. Katie on February 5, 2010 at 9:59 pm

I think something is going around…the nation, I guess! I’ve been down with sickness since Wednesday. Pooey. It sucks because I really wanted to go to a Zumba class on Thursday. I feel like such a lazy bum laying in bed all day with the computer glued to my lap and scholarship/homework stuff sprawled out before me. Hopefully we are all better in the next few days! (Fingers crossed)

What is nutritional yeast?! I keep seeing it on all the blogs! 🙂

  11. Jessica @ WHY DONTCHA RUN on February 5, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Aw, I’m so sorry you’re not feeling well! Emergen-C is the best and I actually had a glass of it earlier today.

    GET WELL SOON!

  12. Jamie on February 5, 2010 at 10:05 pm

    and feel better!!!

  13. kt F on February 5, 2010 at 10:07 pm

I feel you on the illness, I’ve been battling some virus all this week as well. I’ve been taking zinc lozenges (Cold-eeZe) all week, as zinc is supposed to shorten the duration of colds, as long as you don’t overdo it/keep taking it after you’re better. Emergen-C is a great idea, I’ve never tried it. Maybe tomorrow! Feel better!

  14. Ariffa on February 5, 2010 at 10:31 pm

it’s too bad you can’t eat things through computer screens, I would destroy those chocolate tarts. The bread with chocolate agave sauce doesn’t look too shabby either =))

And seriously, the protein in mung bean pasta blows my mind. I added it to my Whole Foods list for tomorrow; can’t wait!

  22. Sarah Anne on February 6, 2010 at 12:11 am

I hope you feel better soon Gina! Hop to the natural foods store and pickup some “Oscillococcinum” from Boiron. I’m telling you – those little homeopathic bits are just phenomenal. I have them stashed in my purse, at work, in my bathroom, in the kitchen – EVERYWHERE just incase sniffles hit. Works like a charm for me every time.

Tarts look lovely too! Take care of yourself!

I’ll be ordering the mung bean pasta online; it’s not in a store near me. Thanks for the heads-up. It looks super delish.

Cheerio & keep up the good work!
