Sweet Friday Giveaway

It’s another lovely, cool day over here. It’s very refreshing to walk outside without being blasted with heat.
I’m a little late blogging this morning since I had to take my car to the dealership to be serviced. The good news is that they offered me a loaner car to have for the day, but I can’t find the emergency brake on it and keep picturing it rolling back from the driveway and crashing into our across-the-street neighbor’s mailbox.
I packed up some oats with almond milk and a crumbled Chocolate Cherry Torte Larabar to take with me to the dealership:
and couldn’t help but notice this surplus of almonds while I was scrounging for breakfast ingredients.
Since it would take forever to polish off that giant bag of almonds by myself, I think they’re destined for macaroon glory.
So how about a little giveaway?
Since the weather is cooling down, I thought it would be fun to talk about how you change and adapt your workouts in the fall weather.
For this giveaway, just leave a comment and let me know what your favorite fall/winter workout is. For me, I take more of my workouts outside to take advantage of the cooler temps, and when it actually gets to the freezing point, lots of hot yoga to warm up.

Since I’m a division one swimmer my main workouts consist of swimming of course, but I love doing crossfit! It can be done indoors or outdoors and requires little to no equipment! It also gets you sweating really fast, no matter how cold it is!
I just bought a Groupon for a month of unlimited hot yoga and I can’t wait to cash it in in November!
I love love love running outside when it’s chilly! Can’t wait!

My favorite fall/winter exercise is intervals I create in my basement. It’s a great way to get my heart rate up and not have to leave the house when its snowing.
My favorite fall/winter workouts are yoga and zumba…actually I pretty much do these workouts year round 🙂
For fall workouts, I LOVE running outside and enjoying the beautiful weather and changing leaves 🙂

I love to be outside when the weather cools off! But anything cooler than 55F and I’m dashing back inside! Growing up in South Africa, I don’t manage the cold too well! I enjoy running, hiking, long walks outside, but also love a Purre Barre workout inside. I hit the gym when Winter really sets in though!

During the fall, I enjoy walking outside. Once it really cools down I stick to indoor workouts with videos.
Fall is THE time for running! It is finally cool enough to venture outdoors with my dog (best running partner ever!) and not worry about heat exhaustion. 🙂
Trail running and hiking! It gets muddy and rainy here around Halloween but that just makes it fun! 😉 also an evening yoga class followed by a decaf latte!

My favorite winter/fall workout used to be cross-country skiing back when i was little because you were always assured hot cocoa with marshmallows after, but i haven’t done it since i was 8 🙁 I want to try my nordic skiing team out!
I run outside a lot. I like to throw in yoga and ab moves halfway through my outdoor runs! I do them on a pier or bench.
My hubby and I have just gotten into biking and the weather is so perfect!!!
When it gets cold outside, my favorite workout is skiing!!! Or snowshoeing! And when those aren’t possible I like a little hot yoga or riding my bicycle 🙂
I love being able to run comfortably and biking in the fall!
Long runs while the sun is still warm on a woodsy trail listening to the leaves crunching under by feet. Pure heaven!

My favorite fall workout is just going for a walk or bike ride outside (the temperature is so perfect this time of year!), and in the winter I love to take Zumba and kickboxing classes to get moving and warmed up!
I love bootcamp and competitive volleyball leagues in the winter!!
I live in Orlando, Florida, so it is too hot in the summer to be active outside much, but very nice through the fall, and most of winter. Pliates in the crisp fresh air would be my favorite “workout” , and neighborhood bike rides with my kids makes me feel like a kid again! We go out almost every evening now that the weather has changed, and we laugh together while enjoying the breeze through our hair!
There are so many things I love to do in winter!
I live in a heavy snow area, and I love cross-country skiing because it’s so versatile! You can just take the puppers out for a stroll or you can go at a fast pace and get a super great workout out of it!
Hot yoga is another popular one to warm up in the deep winter months! I just recently moved so I hope I can find a good yoga place nearby!
However dance has always been and will always be my number one love! While dance isn’t really an outdoor thing, one of my favorite memories is when my dance studio promoted a French restaurant by standing outside and performing a dance under their awning around the holidays.
I also (of course) like taking part in the usual snow-angel making competitions, snowball fights, sledding, and hiking around looking at Christmas lights!
We have a beautiful local park that has all kinds of wooded trails. I get to walk and leaf peep-score!
I like hiking and walking outdoors in the fall, but will move my workouts to the gym this winter!

My favorite fall workout is walking outside with my dog. She is the best exercise buddy ever.
I love going for early morning runs around the lake. I live in Minnesota so I have to take advantage of our nice days before the snow flies.

I’m training for a 50 mile run! Nothing beats fall trail runs, although I miss California for all those winding mountainous roads.

I just like to do more activities with my family that include walking or running around…beach, pumpkin picking, visiting the lighthouse, Discovery Museum, zoo, apple picking. With a 2 year old it’s a work-out!
I’m loving long walks in this weather! I’m 34 weeks pregnant so my walks suffered when it was really hot!
My favorite fall work out right now is walking my dog Emma on the beach! We are both loving the fall weather now that the long, hot FL summer is over, and many of our tourists have gone home so we’ve got the beautiful beach more to ourselves. I’ve even started jogging with her a bit and she loves it.

Bike rides! Fall weather is perfect for riding bike and it’s a good way to see as many trees as possible.
