Valentine’s Day ideas
V-day: love it or hate it, at least we have chocolate. 🙂 Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day this year? I’m excited to spend it with our little family. We’re not sure what we’re doing yet, but I think a lovely dinner and movie are in the cards. I also look forward to making Valentines with Livi. Some of my favorite Valentine’s Days (or any holiday) are the most low-key; just an opportunity to spend time with those you love.
If you’re shopping this year, I thought I’d share some fun Valentine’s Day gift ideas for her, crowdsource some ideas for him (why are guys so tough to shop for?!) and homemade treats.
For her:
Cute pajamas: love this sleep shirt and this romper
Heart sweater (this one is only $24 at LOFT right now)
Initial pendant, or Alex and Ani bangles
Rose lip balm, toner, or shower gel
Dark chocolate sea salt caramels
For him:
I think any of these from my holiday gift guide would make an awesome choice, and experience dates are such a great gift.
Here are some ideas I found on Pinterest:

If you’re planning on getting into the chocolate and card spirit, here are some fun homemade goodies to share with your love, your friends, or yourself 🙂
Peanut butter chocolate fondue
Homemade chocolate marshmallows
Paleo almond butter lava cakes
Raw brownie cheesecake raspberry bars
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

I have been single every single valentine’s day to date. I wonder when that’ll ever change, and I don’t loathe the holiday despite being alone. 🙂 I can’t believe it’s only 1 week until the 14th!
i spent a lot of v-days single, too, but they were some of my favorite ones: girlfriends make awesome valentines 🙂
I’m so excited for Valentine’s Day! I want those message macaroons! Too cute!
i want them too! haha
A box of chocolates and I’m over the moon! Those sea salt caramels look delicious!
I have a bunch of Alex and Ani bracelets and I wear them all the time. I have given them as gifts too because I feel you can make them a little personalized through the one you choose. I have had Valentine’s Days alone and with someone and I think you have to make the best of it no matter what your status. This year the boyfriend and I are going the dinner and movie route too. Enjoy the weekend!
I think Valentine’s Day is great for people who enjoy celebrating it!
I’m single this Valentine’s Day so I plan on treating myself 😉 . Maybe with those paleo lava cakes…
My boy and I are doing a ‘progressive dinner’ / restaurant hop! Happy hour, entree, and dessert all at different places– and in between each one we have a fun activity planned!
Hi Gina! I don’t know what the hubs and I will be doing for Valentine’s Day this year, but likely a nice dinner somewhere. I usually buy him good gifts, but I’m thinking of taking the DIY route this year. Yay for chocolate, wine and all things red and pink! 🙂
Those macaroons are absolutely adorable! I’m not actually looking forward to Vday this year, but I’m going to buy myself a little something special to try to make up for it. I’m thinking maybe a new pair of workout pants from Lulu should the trick! 🙂
I hope you guys have a fun day!
My husband’s birthday is right before Valentine’s Day- I just ordered him a bacon “Mancrate”. (Best website ever!) http://www.mancrates.com
Cool site, thanks for sharing!
Well, I have a Hot Chocolate 15k in the morning and then after that…who knows what we will do. I always do something special for the kids also- so need to figure that out I suppose 🙂
So helpful, I really have to get organised for v day! Have a lovely day with your lovely family 🙂 I’m very happy with my boyfriend so am looking forward to v day this year! 🙂
fresh skincare products are so nice — would love to receive them on v-day!
the bessttttttt
Aww, I love Julie’s cheap date ideas that you shared. I think me and the boyf will keep it low-key this V-day, maybe go out to dinner and watch a movie or try one of her ideas. What a great Valentine’s Day ideas post!
The conversation macarons are so, so cute! Now I’m feeling really ambitious and want to try to make them . . . this could be exciting! 😉
oooh let me know if you do!
So I totally dropped the ball on picking a dinner place and now everything is booked so looks like we’re staying in! But that’s fine, I’m happy cooking a big ole dinner and having wine on the couch!! in my pjs!
sounds like a great night!
