Don’t Mind if I Fondue
Hi guys! How are you?? ITβS FRIDAY!! π Thank you so much for your awesome comments on the BC update post. It got a little personal for a second, but sometimes that happens π
My Thursday night ended up being pretty much amazing:
2 hours of Dance Trance (Iβm in LOVE) and then dinner at Urban Flats for Ladiesβ Night with my cousin π
Note: All dinner photos are via crackberry, since we went straight from dance
We shared the wheat flatbread appetizer with macadamia nut hummus, olive tapenade, red pepper dip and pesto:
and I got the standard Maple Dijon cedar plank salmon for my entree.
So flaky, buttery and the sauce is perfect. My goal is to recreate it at home sometime in the near futureβ¦ but itβs kinda hard to be motivated when entrees are half-priced on Thursday nights for Ladiesβ night. You also get free dessert! Last time we went, it was cannolli, which was pretty good. This time, it was creme brulee, which my cousin and I both kinda detest, so this happened instead:
Chocolate fondue!
Pound cake, pineapple, banana, marshmallow and strawberries with a giant vat of chocolate for dipping.
Dessert domination 2010 π
I went to sleep with my fondue food baby and called it a night <3
This morning, I woke up early to get in a little cardio sesh before work (45 glorious minutes on the treadmill- I lost the charger to my iPod, so I just listened to VH1 on the TV- it was perfect!), and then munched this for b-fast:
Chocolate cherry bomb diggity.
+ some toast π
Hi hoβ¦ Hi hoβ¦.
xoxo,
Gina
I lurve fondue. I seriously don’t think I can choose between chocolate and cheese. They are both so good.
You can’t go wrong with 1/2 price entrees and free dessert!
That salmon looks ridiculously good!
Have a good day at work π
Your ladies’ nights always look like so much fun! It makes me want to plan one.
yummmmmmmmmmmm. half price? super yum.
Love chocolate fondue! π Hope you have a good day!
Yummmmmmy I love fondue. Cheese is the type I traditionally eat, though. I’ve been deprived of chocolate. π
all that food looks delicious – the salmon gets me every time!! i hope your new shoes worked well! π
i adore fondue in a most ridiculous way…cheese is my fave and chocolate is a VERY close second!
we are totally making fondue this weekend!! π I’ve been craving it, so we’re havin’ a little party… you can show up around 6! π
So…I just went to my first hip hop class in 5 years last night, and it pretty much felt like someone gave me my life back. I can NOT believe I let it go so long before dancing again. I had this big goony smile on my face all the way home and cannot wait to go back next week, even if it is a little cheesed out. π Dance Trance sounds even better! So yeah I will be consulting your past blog posts about how to become a trainer very soon. π
Fondue tops a creme brulee in my book as well! Even when free, somethings just aren’t worth eating π
I love the title of this post! Chocolate fondue is quite possibly my favorite dessert!!
I don’t think I’ve ever had fondue…haha is that bad? I like to call myself a foodie but i’ve never tasted fondue…hmmmm oh well! SOON! That salmon looks divine π
Fondue > creme brulee. Not even a question! Unless it’s the vegan lavender creme brulee at Blossom in NYC…mmmm π Hope you have a great Friday!
I reallly wish we had different and fun classes like that near my home! Maybe I need to move to Florida? π
mmm I adore fondue! Put warm, melted chocolate on anything and I’ll eat it!
Macadamia nut hummus sounds fantastic.
So want a fondue now!!!
Choc fondue is pretty much awesome! I have been to the Melting Pot restaurant for many a ladies nite out, New Years, etc and fondue was in full force! I havent had it in years but yeah, good stuff!
Love the ladies nite: time with your friends, half price food, free dessert. Hello, that’s a standing date night every week if you ask me!!!
Glad you girls had a ball…that’s sooo important is cutting loose and being with friends, in real life, out living life, key. So key!
π
Yum! Love salmon! =)
This is pretty off topic, but will you be doing a Winter Shape Up Workout this year? The Summer Shape Up made me feel so strong by the end of it– I had shoulder muscles for the first time in my life! π
we all need ladies night and we all need chocolate fondue! Well done. π
I’ve never had fondue in a restaurant. I know….the shame! I’ve had some in cooking class but that’s it!
I can’t get enough fondue!
mmm fondue, i have NEVER had chocolate fondue before, might be something to try out
Let me know what you think the sauce is for the salmon. Just got back with the goods to make your black bean/sweet potato chili. Time to break out the crockpot.
i’m making that this weekend too! π
think it’s stone ground mustard, maple syrup, garlic, sea salt, pepper and olive oil??
Great minds think alike huh? That salmon pic has me slobering. I have a cedar plank; I think I’ll try to grill some up.
I like creme brulee, but chocolate fondue definitely trumps it! π
I am IN LOVE with fondue…whether it be cheese or chocolate. <3 My Mom got a huge fondue pot for Christmas last year and I beg her to take it out AT LEAST once a month! π
Oh my everything at Urban Flats looks incredible. I was drooling over the appetizer with the macadamia nut hummus and then I saw the dessert-yum!
Gina,
I live in Orlando as well and did the Reindeer Run last year. This year it is in a new location but I thought it was a fun race that got me in the Christmas spirit last year. You can sign up at trackshack.com. You do need to stop talking about Seasons 52 on your blog though as I want to go there every time you mention it. Hope you like your new town. I just discovered Zumba a few months ago and love it. Sooo surprized that I like it as much as I do. The teacher is hilarious so that makes it enjoyable as well.
