Vegas is our Disneyland
Hi friends! How are ya?
Weโre here safe and sound in Las Vegas, and already having a blasty ๐
We decided that Vegas is like our Disneyland.. we get the same kind of excitement from being here that we did going to Disneyland as kids. Itโs shopping, eating, entertainment, party paradise ๐
When we got to the airport, we took the shuttle to the hotel, which I totally recommend. Itโs only $12 each way (way less than getting a cab = more money to spend on fun stuff) and since Iโm naturally nosy, I like to see where all the other shuttle-riders are staying ๐
Checked into the room, which is 100% lovely.
And after that, it was time for brunch ๐
We knew exactly where we were going: Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris hotel.
We ate at Mon Ami last time we were here (the Pilot pretty much ate an entire coffee cake.. it was legendary), and couldnโt wait to go back. They have unbelievable breakfast, itโs always packed, you have a view of the Bellagio fountains + they offer gluten-free options
Drinkies while we waited for our table:
They brought out the most beautiful crispy gluten-free bread with warm olives, carrots, onions and garlic gloves, French baguette with butter for the Pilot
(I had a couple bites of bread since my entree was bread-y, but had quite a few olives. They were AMAZING)
For my entree, I rolled with the eggs Florentine on gluten-free bread. Potatoes were shared with the Pilot ๐
It was everything I could have wished for. I havenโt had hollandaise sauce in FOREVER, so it was fun to try it againโฆ and now, Iโd like to swim in it.
The Pilot ordered the blueberry French toast, which he said was sweet and fluffy- almost like a cross between a pound cake and sourdough bread.
Two happy kids indeed ๐
After brunch, we took our food babies to the mall โIโll post my purchases on the fashion page in a couple of minutes- and now weโre back at the hotel. Iโm going to wake the Pilot up from his nap so we can hit up the pool before dinner ๐
Enjoy the rest of your day and Iโll see ya in the morning with Summer Shape Up 2011 <3
xoxo
Gina
Something to talk about: Do you usually prefer sweet or savory in the morning? For me, it depends on what kind of mood Iโm in, but usually prefer savory. I lurve me some eggs in the am ๐
I’ve never been to Vegas, but I’d certainly love to go someday soon! You should write a post/page about all of your favorite restaurants, attractions, and other things that you love in Vegas–I know I’d print it out for my trip!
Ahh im so jealous of your vaca it looks like a blast and your bfast looks fab nothing better than olives and bread!! Enjoy your evening.
Yay!!!! Have a super fun and safe trip!
If you went to Fashion Show Mall today (or, really, pretty much any shopping center on the strip), I am going to be a VERY jealous girl! Have fabulous time on your mini vacay. Can’t wait to see all the deets. : )
where do you stay in vegas?
i’ll post the deets after we leave ๐
never been to Vegas but looks like a good time. Your food looks amaze and I love your top your wearing or is it a dress ๐
I prefer savory at all points of the day. That’s right, I’m one of those people without a huge sweet tooth. I do love a pint of coconut milk ice cream at all hours of the day though ๐
Yum! I would’ve dove head first into those olives!
I’m definitely a savor-y person in the mornings. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE pancakes and french toast but prefer to have those when we eat breakfast for dinner. ๐
I’ve never been to Vegas but always heard it’s basically foodie heaven… definitely have to visit soon!
How fun! ๐ That french toast looks incredible. I am definitely a sweet breakfast person. It is a rare occasion when I am craving something savory for breakfast! Hope you two have a great time in Vegas!
Never been to Vegas, but it sure does look like an adult- version of Disneyland ๐ Have a blast with the pilot and go crazy!
very envious of how you have easy access to so many wonderful cities and the Caribbean in the USA… the only bonus we have in Europe is that by the time it takes you to cross your country, we could cross about five ๐ x
Ur bringing back memories if my Vegas vacation at sept when I got married there! I can tell what hotel your in because of the room, we stayed there too! Have fun! Can’t wait to see more pics ๐

I usually go for sweet stuff if I’m having breakfast at home, but if I’m out, I almost always get eggs. Eggs florentine or egg white omelets with veggies are the usual go-tos. A mimosa takes care of the sweet part!
I prefer sweet, all day, every day. Some days, that’s not even an exaggeration—bedtime will roll around, and I’ll realize I haven’t eaten a single savory thing! Have a blast on your vacay : )
I definitely prefer to eat sweet stuff in the morning, but savory tends to hold longer for me, so I choose that more often.
The Pilot’s french toast looks so good!
My husband and I totally say the same thing about Mexico being our “Disney World”. It’s an amazing feeling! I’ve never been to Vegas or the West coast for that matter, but I’m dying to get out there!
I go back and forth with my sweet or savory in the morning. Sometimes I’m feeling like a toast and eggs type of flavor and sometimes I’m feeling more of a fruity type of bfast. It really all depends on the day I guess!
French toast always steals my heart! I love Vegas and am trying to convince my boyfriend to go, I think he would love it!
I need something sweet in the morning. I will usually have maple syrup on something on my breakfast plate. Maple syrup and eggs is surprisingly delicious!
That brunch sounds fantastic! You have me drooling Gina…..suuuriously those pics make the food look so DELICIOUS!
Your breakfast looks good, but I’ve got to say I think the Pilot’s looks even better! I much prefer sweet breakfasts! ๐
i’ve yet to get to vegas, so i love reading your reports, gina! you’d be a great travel consultant for if/when i do get there…i feel overwhelmed by all the accommodation choices, alone!
love sweets in the morning. eggs to me are a light supper choice!
have a fabulous time!
I definitely have a “sweet tooth” in the a.m. — I’m all about the oats, waffles, etc.
Enjoy Vegas!
“the most beautiful crispy gluten-free bread” — wow, for ANY bread it looks great; but especially for GF bread!
the french toast, bloobs, almost pound cake style…heaven.on.a.plate
no wait, those mimosas or whatever they are look better ๐
HAVE FUN at Disneyland ๐
my comment just went into moderation..weird.
I *just* got a new computer. 1st comment from it. maybe that’s why?
Being Greek, I would have been ALL over those olives.. Like fitnessista on goat cheese! ๐
I crave sweet in the morning like 80% of the time. For me nothing beats a fresh fruit salad or green smoothie (or during colder times, hot oatmeal with bananers and coconut…hmm)! Btw, your room looks so swanky! “So Fresh, So Clean” by Outkast comes to mind ๐
I love Mon Ami Gabi!! I’ve been to Vegas a few times and have stayed at Paris + Bally’s. That looks like Udi’s gluten free bread, which I am currently loving! ๐
apparently i need to buy some! it is SO good ๐
Omggg, looks like soo much fun!!
gah i want to go there! weather looks perfect!
I’m going to vegas in July!! So excited now I see these pics.. ! Will def try that cafe close to the Paris hotel ๐
Your room looks nice. I love the cakes at Paris!
LOVE THIS! Have a blast! ๐
Oh, YUM, that french toast looks AMAZING! Hah, I’m definately a sweet breakfast kinda girl… and a sweet lunch… and sometimes even a sweet dinner… I could probably eat chocolate and fruit for every meal and be happy!
oh man, now im jonesing to go to vegas. ive heard very good things about mon ami gabi but have never been. better put it on the list!
I don’t know if it’s really your thaang, but the Miss USA contestants checked in yesterday and there are events all over Vegas this week. So if you’re interested, there’s a schedule on missusa.com
so fun- thanks for the heads up!
I keep seeing this place whenever I’m in Vegas and just KNOW I have to try it now!!
disney world is overrated. Went there for 7 days and could have left at the 3rd day…so hott and i’m too impatient. vegas on the other hand…bring on the booze, shopping, and gambling!
