Still not quite there
Instead of my usual Thursday of teaching and Zumba, I spent the morning testing out the Schweaty November Workout, so it will be ready to go tomorrow! It was certainly schweaty, and please let me know if you have any current workout song faves to add to the playlist.
I took today and Saturday off work, since we have out-of-town guests coming in for the shower โmy friend Hayley is staying with us this weekend!- and I wanted to be able to spend time with them. Whenever we have people in town, they like to see the new casa, so weโll give the house tour and everything.
Which means, I get to show two rooms that still need a little lot of help, and have wickedly awful paint jobs.
Exhibit 1: the babyโs future room (when sheโs old enough to move out of the nursery)
There used to be car and train decals on the wallsโฆ very nice.
Exhibit 2: what will be the Pilot self-worship room aka the office
*shudders*
When youโre military, itโs easy to have at least one room in your house full of boxes that youโll probably never unpack since moving happens so frequently. Since weโre supposed to be here at least 3 years, itโs kind of exciting to know that we can fully unpack and settle a little bit, before we find out whatโs happening next.
Pretty much every pilot Iโve met has a room in their house with their medals and awards, military art and plane models, etc., so this will be the Pilotโs. I think it would be fun to do a vintage military theme in there but before really decorating it, we need a new desk. We ended up dismembering our old one in Valdosta, and putting it out front, along with many other things, and a sign that said โTake me!โ
I love the fact that itโs pink right now, even though itโs a BRIGHT and nauseating shade. [And thatโs coming from a major pink fan]
We still have work to do on the nursery and master bedroom,
and the only upstairs room that is actually finished is the guest room.
Itโs all a work in progress, but hopefully most of it will be done before the holidays? We shall seeโฆ
*More house pics in this post ๐
This morningโs bfast included the return of an old favorite:
candy cane green tea!!!! I hoarded boxes from Trader Joeโs right before they got rid of them last year, and I was so excited to see that itโs back. This would be AMAZING with some dark chocolate almond milkโฆ.
I enjoyed a plain cup this morning with pumpkin protein oats, half a GF gingersnap cookie crumbled on top:
Time to get crackalackin on the to-do list ๐
See ya later today with a Family post!
xoxo

Something to talk about: Whatโs your all-time favorite tea? Candy cane green tea for me, and Tulsi sweet rose is a close #2. Any room in your house that youโd like to makeover? As much work as the office needs, getting the master totally finished is on the top of our priority list.
I just saw that tea yesterday at Trader Joe’s! I was wanting to pick some up, but I hadn’t heard anything about it! I should have because our closest Trader Joe’s is a good 45 minutes away! :/
I love that tea too! I’m almost out though, which is a bummer because we don’t have TJs in Canada. ๐
Gina, did you see this set at Sephora? The Tarte eyeliner you raved about… a whole set of them!
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P296607
I’m going to my sephora tomorrow to buy them and if they’re not there I’m going to buy them online (it’s $51 Canadian + shipping, but that’s still awesome considering they’re $35 each here!!)
those are BEAUTIFUL! ordering now ๐
thank you!!!
I ordered them too, hahah! SUCH a good deal!! Also got a set of 6 Tarte lip-crayon things for some ridiculous price… maybe $30? There are something like 225 reviews and STILL they have 5/5 stars!
I cannot live without Aveda’s comforting tea: http://www.aveda.com/product/5210/17081/Body/Tea/Aveda-Comforting-Tea-Bags/index.tmpl. (Also known to my sisters and I as crack tea.) It’s always a stocking stuffer for my mom, sisters, and I. It’s the best part of getting my hair done because my salon serves it perfectly steeped!
I love Irish tea with milk, but lately I’ve also been loving Jasmine Pearls from Trader Joe’s- so soothing and delicious!
sleepytime tea is always a staple in my house… but I love Eater’s Digest by Traditional Medicinals and Constant Comment always reminds me of Christmas… I also just discovered Teecino which is a caffeine-free coffee substitute that is AMAZING! It’s great with a little milk and sweetener.
Shoot, I was just at TJ’s and didn’t think to peruse the tea aisle! I’ve been scared off from drinking green tea while pregnant; I was told that something in green tea reduces your ability to absorb folic acid. Is this true, or did I just get scaredy-cat-preggo-owned again?
I know it’s not tea, but Christmas is back at Starbucks too apparently. Time to switch out my weekly Pumpking Spice Latte with a Peppermint one!
Sleepy Time from Celestial Seasonings of course! Childhood fav..reminds me of family.
Your guest room looks charming! Next time I am at TJs I’m getting that tea. I finally tried the guacamole hummus you recommended and we’re all hooked! It’s a great way to get a kid who loves hummus, but supposedly “hates avocados” to eat avocado. We just don’t tell him it’s in there and he eats it and enjoys it. He loves that it’s green too!
