Five: a random blog survey
Hi friends! Happy humpday! Hope youโre having a wonderful week so far. Since weโve still getting back in the swing of life after our little getaway, I thought today would be a perfect time to complete this little survey my friend Julie posted. I always enjoy reading these on other blogs, and also love when you play along in the comments section. Itโs so much fun to learn more about all of you! <3 Here are my answers, and if youโd like, pick 3 questions and answer in the comments section.
Five places Iโm dying to visit:
Ireland. The Pilotโs family has a bar in Dublin, and we definitely need to make a trip to check it out one of these years!
Spain. My great-grandmother was from Spain, and Iโve always adored Spanish culture and food. Seeing live flamenco in Spain is on the olโ bucket list.
Italy (take me baaaaaack). Since we went to Italy, Iโve thought about going back every.day. Itโs the most magical place Iโve ever visited, and weโre planning on heading back next summer. I think itโs going to be one of those places we canโt stay away from for too long.
Australia. My friend Lisa (who is from Australia) convinced me that this is a must-do. The scenery looks exquisite, and sheโs proved to me that Australians are awesome, so there ya go.
Fiji. I just want to be here.
(Source) (Ps while I was looking for that picture I came across Poseidon Undersea Resorts. WHAT. While it looks cool, I think it would freak me out a bit. Let me relax under this blanket of ocean lifeโฆ with one eye open for the shark that might swim overhead, or the fear that the ceiling will start leaking. haha.)
Five foods I eat every day:
Eggs. Itโs not a day until eggs have made an appearance.
Chocolate
Oatmeal
Coffee (I consider coffee a source of nourishment haha)
Almond butter
Five talents I wish I had:
Graphic design. It takes me 18 years to make my workout graphics haha.
Fashion design. I would love to design some athletic pieces but would need to do a lot of research for development and actually bringing the designs to life.
Eyebrow waxing. I go to Anastasia salon (in Nordstrom) to get my brows done, and they do an awesome job, but I always wish I could just do it myself.
Photography. While I feel like itโs improved over the years, itโs something Iโd still like to dramatically boost.
Composing. I used to play piano (and forgot everything I knew), but always thought it would be cool to compose music. I can read music and we had to compose some songs for music theory in high school, but I definitely was not good at it.
Five healthy food bloggers I wish could cook for me every day:
Gina from Skinnytaste
Gena from the Full Helping
Brittany from Eating Bird Food
Ange from Oh She Glows
Ashley from Edible Perspective
Five Instagram accounts I love:
Tuna melts my heart. Neck shrivels for days. Iโm obsessed with Tuna.
Target does it again. Like we all need reasons to buy allthethings at Target.
Meandmisscshop – giving away all of my secrets here ๐ She posts clothes and shoes -lots of kidsโ stuff- for amazing prices. I get a lot of Liviโs shoes from this IG account.
Shauna Harrison. Such a powerhouse. Iโm inspired every time I look at her page!
Misty Copeland. <3 <3
Five things I wear almost every day:
Sunglasses (Iโm like a bat in the sun without them)
The earrings the Pilot got me while we were in Valdosta
Five songs I listen to on repeat:
“Reaper” by Sia
“Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” by Adele. Maybe my favorite Adele song ever? SO catchy.
“Downtown” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
“The Hum (Short Edit)” by Dimitri Vegas, Like Mike and Ummet Ozcan
“Till It Hurts (feat Ayden)” by Yellow Claw. Love this one for cardio!
Five beauty products I use every day:
Five movies I can watch on repeat:
Love Actually. I have this one on the DVR all year to watch as a little pick-me-up.
Pretty Woman
Bridesmaids
Father of the Bride
How to Lose a Guy In 10 Days. The quote opportunities are endless.
Five books on my current reading list:
All the Light We Cannot See. I started to listen to this via Audible while driving, and it was a bit of a snoozer for the car ride. I still want to read the book, though.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child
Five random things I ate yesterday:
Ghirardelli Sea Salt Soiree chocolate (MY FAVE)
Tomato soup from Tender Greens
A protein donut
An almond butter and jelly sandwich from Better Buzz
Scrambled eggs with hot sauce
So tell me friends: where would you like to visit? 5 books on your reading list? Any new beauty product faves youโre loving?
xoxo
Gina
Spain is a great country to visit. I studied in Sevilla as a college student and traveled as much as possible throughout the entire country. I wish I could move back for the weather, people, food, culture and more. Hope you get to go.
Favorite movie: Something borrowed.
Place I’m dying to visit: Argentina (p.s. I lived in Spain for a year, it’s the bomb!)
Foods I eat everyday: Nuttzo chocolate nut butter, eggs, green tea
A talent I wish I had: To be able to decorate like my Mom. She has amazing design eye and can put anything together. I’ve told her she needs to open her own business!
that movie was on last week and i caught the second half. i loved the book, but can’t wait to see the rest of the movie now!
NUTTZO IS LIFE
What an awesome post idea! I might have to do one of these myself! But I also would love to go to Australia and Fiji, and I went to Dublin as a teenager and loved it! Everyday I wear some sort of fun socks–because what’s the use of socks if they aren’t fun?
All of those places!!! And Iceland, India, and Thailand ๐
I’m almost done with Help For The Haunted, surprisingly a pretty interesting quick read!
No beauty products right now, this girls goes “naked” faced ๐
i would love to go naked face. these two little ones have left me pretty run down lately — i need all the help i can get haha ๐
Love this! I’m headed to Italy in March! Any recommendations? We’ll be in Rome, Florence & Venice for a week. I went to Ireland two years ago and was surprised by how much I loved it! We stayed in a lot of B&B’s and the people there were so wonderful. It’s very beautiful!
– Five places Iโm dying to visit: EVERYWHERE ๐ but Hawaii, New Zealand, Brazil, Alaska, and Portland currently top the list.
– Five books on my reading list: This is only 3 but The 4-hour Workweek, Natural Born Heroes, and just started Food Lab. I recently finished & loved The Nightingale, The House at Riverton, and Home of the Brave if you need some recommendations.
– Five random things I ate yesterday: Poppy seed bread (homemade by my mom for v-day! <3), egg casserole, chicken tikka massala (http://picturetherecipe.com/index.php/recipes/chicken-tikka-masala/), spaghetti, and some ben & jerry's to top it all off ๐
i have major italy jealousy. have so much fun!!!! we did rome and positano. in rome, eat here: http://www.gustopinto.com it was my favorite meal there! it’s tucked away and so romantic for dinner ๐
I looooove that Adele song too. I always bop around in the car when it’s on ๐ I’m with you on keeping Love Actually on the DVR too! Since I’m too lazy to get the actual DVD out and watch it haha.
it’s so dance-y!
What a cool idea!
I would love to go to Spain. I could watch Pretty Woman all day every day. I like to wear flip-flops every day. I MUST have coffee everyday.
pretty woman <3 richard gere is like a fine wine hahah
Iโm studying abroad all summer in Spain, and I cannot wait! All of the places you want to go have been on my list, so I hope you get to see them all!
As for your eyebrow waxing, girl I feel you! Have you given any thought to learning how to pluck with a tweezer? I used to spend wayyyy too much money on waxing, but now I just trim with hair scissors and pluck them. If I keep up with it every few days, it makes it a lot more manageable, and I now save $240 a year! Agh, I cringe thinking that I used to spend that much on it. ๐
<--- JEALOUS i know how to tweeze, but i don't know how to shape. when they shape my brows, they look SO much better than when i just clean them up with tweezers. every time i go, it's $36 though!
I am about 3/4 of the way through of All the Light We Cannot See on audio and I am still not that into it. I hate it when people rave about books and I just don’t get it.
i could not do the audio version. i was like i’m going to crash if i have to listen to this hahaha
I agree — these blog posts are always fun. And yes — chocolate and coffee, every day.
yassss

5 books on my list: The Reluctant Fundamentalist (borrowed from a colleague); Living Your Yoga; Hard-Boiled Wonderland (been on my shelf forever); I’m probably due to read another Atwood….hmmm can’t think of anything else!
Yesss! This was just the inspiration I needed to look into my next vacation! I totally want to go to Italy!
I might be going to Dublin to study abroad this fall! It’s one of the places I really want to visit as well (obvs). What is the name of Pilot’s family’s bar? I’ll hit it up if I go!
i will ask him! i think it’s the o’harney but i’ll double check
I love surveys like this! I kind of want to do it now.
