Reader’s Request: What’s in the Bag?

Hi guys! Hope youโ€™re having a fabulous Friday! <3

I thought today would be a lovely day for a readerโ€™s request and thought this was a fun one:

From Brittany:

Iโ€™ve always wanted to see is what do you bring to the gym every time (ipod, water bottle, towel.. etc) and also any beauty products to use after the gym so i donโ€™t smell all sweaty in class! (things like dry shampoo.. deodorant)

So hereโ€™s my gym bag of justice.

bag

Since I left the business professional job thang a couple of years ago, I usually meet up with friends or train clients after my workouts. (I used to go straight from the gym to work) For this example, letโ€™s pretend that Iโ€™m meeting friends for a casual breakfast after my gym sesh ๐Ÿ˜‰

A lil disclaimer: my gym bag was a freebie but everything inside is stuff that I bought with my own dinero. Iโ€™m not sponsored or paid by these companies in any way- I just like them ๐Ÿ˜€

The goods:

goods

Cosmetic schtuff,

cosmetics

-Hair glossing cream (Freddrick Fekkai is my fave and they have the mini bottles at Bath and Body Works)

-Moisturizer (Juice Beauty tinted with SPF)

-Mini shampoos and conditioner

-Deodorant

-Face wash (LOVE Korres right now)

-Rockstar dry shampoo

-Mini lotion and leave-in conditioner

-Mineral makeup (from Targizzle)

-Brush

-Eyeshadow

-And samples of body wash and scrub

A tip: samples are your friend! I hoard samples from Sephora for gym and travel purposes. Stash mini samples of perfume, cosmetics and body care in your gym bag- perfect one a one-time use and this way, you wonโ€™t have to bring a full bottle and get to try something new!

 Hair schtuff,

blowdryer

-Straightener and blow dryer

*I donโ€™t always wash and blow dry my hair after the gymโ€”Iโ€™ll put my hair in a high bun, take a shower, and then spray dry shampoo, brush, quick blow dry and run a straightener through it. Good as new ๐Ÿ™‚

Food gear

food

-Sun Warrior in a baggie with protein shaker cup

-Water bottle

-Spry gum

-Larabar for an emergency snack (whole grain wrap with ab, or hummus and veg is great too)

-Goo in case I take a class and then want to do weights or vise versa โ€“ to get in extra carbs

Clothes

clothes

-Just a pair of shorts and top with flip flops and a purse

-Fresh unmentionables (not posting those on the blogโ€ฆ thatโ€™s weird, haha)

I think thatโ€™s about it!

Am I forgetting anything??

Any tips for changing or packing for the gym? Favorite post workout products? One of my clients takes what she calls โ€œairplane bathsโ€ when sheโ€™s in a hurryโ€”she uses baby wipes to towel off and changes for work super fast. She always smells lovely, too ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope yaโ€™ll liked this readerโ€™s request post! Please send requests my way, fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject: Readerโ€™s Request

Enjoy your night!!
xoxo,

Gina

It’s amazing how much fits in the core. I’m going to try dry shampoo too, I’ve heard about it but have always been apprehensive because I thought it would leave a powdery residue or something. Thanks for writing this post, it was really helpful!

I’m loving the rockstar dry shampoo! It now stays in my gym bag and I’ve been known to use it in the rest room of the local Fleet Feet after a group run. Shhhh… don’t tell Alan and Susan the owners. LOL

hey girl! I noticed you put a blow dryer and a straightener in you bag… have u ever tried a wet to straight hair straightener? my hair is unruly and i ALWAYS would have to blow it dry then straighten it… took me an hour and a half to do my hair… and certain straighteners wouldnt even work. i have an instyler which i adore but i really love my wet to straight. its super fast and makes my hair straight and dry in one step… and it stays straight. you can also use it as a dry hair straightener too… theres a setting for it. just watch out when you use it on wet hair cuz it does produce steam from when it lets the water outta your hair. but just thought i would suggest it. turn off… leaves your hair smelling a lil like a straightener but if you have good smelling product for your hair then voila! i believe its by revlon and its like a 1 1/2 inch or 2 inches. got it at target for like 25 bucks… worth a try lol.

I always keep a handful of spare elastics and bobbypins in my bag! I always seem to forget them otherwise!
