Thank you so much for all of the beautiful anniversary wishes. We appreciate them so much!
(Piic from our date night. I like how the server captured the awesome full moon in there.)
We celebrated a night early, and had dinner at Coasterra. It’s a Cohn restaurant (they own our favorite place, Bo-Beau Kitchen), and is located right on the harbor, which a magnificent view of downtown, the ocean, and the sparkling Coronado bridge. The atmosphere alone was incredible. Coasterra features modern Mexican food, so of course, we had margaritas, chips and tableside guacamole.
We also shared an ahi tuna tostada, which was overflowing with fresh tuna.
For my entree, I had a vegetarian enchilada and tostada combo. To be totally honest, the food was pretty meh. It was good, but nothing memorable or extraordinary. The atmosphere, drinks, and dessert are worth a trip if you’re in San Diego.
This is the butter cake, and it 100% made up for the mediocre entrees. It was basically a buttery cookie cake, with ice cream and caramel. LIKE A CAKER VERSION OF A PIZOOKIE <— worth yelling about
Yes yes yes.
I think that cake is a perfect way to kick off the weekly Friday Faves party, where I share some faves from the week and around the web. Be sure to stick around for the end of this post and enter a little giveaway for me to youuuuuu.
Food finds!
I was excited to try out a couple of new things this week from Trader Joe’s and loved them both.
The first one is this egg white protein powder.
It’s only egg whites! This is awesome because I’ve been doing goat whey mixed with Shakeology (because goat whey tastes so goaty but has higher protein content) and this powder is nearly tasteless. It doesn’t smell great because you know, eggs, but it tastes totally fine. It’s an easy way to amp up the protein content in oats, smoothies, and baked goodies.
Speaking of oats, I was also stoked about this find.. It’s just a mix of chia, oats, quinoa, flax, and amaranth, and has zero sugar.
Pretty awesome stats, too.
This backpack has been a game changer. I wanted something hands-free when I’m out with the girls, and it’s been an awesome impromptu diaper bag. It also fits my laptop and planner nicely, which makes it perfect for travel.
10 workouts to try when you’re bored at the gym.
Why your legs shake in barre class. (Tip: if you’re sleep-deprived, short on nutritions, or dehydrated, they are more likely to shake.)
I want this frosé right now. I mean after 5pm.
Things that don’t make sense to Type A people.
Adding these to the reading list.
Right now, it’s just about surviving. The part about the chart on the floor and the baby eating it made me laugh out loud. #reallife
P’s new jammies.
LOVE the bold red off-shoulder dress.
I was so excited to see my friend Jess on this list!!

This week I’m loving my pups – an 11 yr old pekepom and a 17 yr old Pekingese!
17?! that is amazing 🙂
I hope my dogs stick around that long (and are healthy enough to do so with good quality of life!)
I’m loving having my husbands grandparents in town meeting their great granddaughter and seeing the love they have for her
I bought that egg white protein powder a few weeks ago, but I’ve been afraid to try it because it smells awful!! Maybe now I’ll be brave enough to try it out
I’m loving the Olympics. Never before have I watched it so regularly. So much motivation!
I am loving my workout buddies! Motivating and a breath of fresh air! <3
Oh, yeah. I lol’d at the “Type A” article….yeah….:)
I am loving all the strong female athletes at the Olympics and enjoy reading their stats like the amazing stats about Kim: http://www.teamusa.org/usa-shooting/athletes/Kimberly-Rhode Oh and I am loving the chance at a Beauty Counter membership!!! Happy Friday! 🙂

I’m loving the sunny weather after so much rain in the Midwest!
I’m loving spending time with friends I have not seen in a long time
P is adorable in her new Jammies! We did a happy hour at coasterra when we were in SD a few weeks ago. We had a drink and the queso fundido. It was good, but pricy. The views are awesome though!
This week I am loving the sugarbearhair vitamins I ordered. We will see if they work, but they taste good!
I’m loving baby snuggles 🙂
Always wanted to try beautycounter!
I am loving the antibiotics that we finally got for my son for his ear infections. We thought he was having nightmares and waking up from those each night, but when we finally brought him in, turns out he had two ear infections! We felt badly that it took three days to get him in, but he is on the mend now!
I am loving the weather! The humidity finally broke in NY and we have had some nice evenings outside. We took my 13 month old out for his first ice cream cone last night!
I’m loving my new oil diffuser and the immunity oil blend! It smells like fall:)
I’m loving watching the Olympics and fun olympic viewing parties to cheer on Ashton Easton — my fav. Also wedding season and summer nights.
Gah P is so cute!! And I need Frose now!!
This week I’m loving Orange Theory…one finally opened in our area about 2 months ago and I was hesitant to sign up for the monthly membership because it’s pricey and hard for me to find a sitter but I finally did and am LOVING it! Could be my new fave workout class!
I am loving the fact that we’re staying home for the weekend. Summer is always so packed with weekend trips so it’ll be nice to not have to pack a bag!
I am loving that my son had a great first day of fourth grade this week! Nerves were really building up, so this is uuuuuggggeeee!
I am loving that my BodyPump instructor went all the way back to release 70 this week, which was the release they were on when my gym started doing it. Such a fun throwback (minus the Nickelback biceps track…hahaha). Workouts should always include a Beyonce cool down!
I’m loving my new Asics Gel-Cumulus running shoes- training for a half marathon next month and they are so comfortable and supportive!
Love P’s new jammies! Loving the new sleeping schedule my newborn is on. Hoping it lasts more than one night!
This week I’m loving that I made a big step in going back to school! I’ve been talking about it for a long time, but I went down and finally did it! 😀
I’m loving the fact that I’m getting MARRIED exactly one week from today ??
Right now pinning all the Fall related decorating, recipe, and clothing pins on Pinterest is what I am really loving! So excited for it to cool down!
I’m loving that I feel strong and confident this week. It’s taken a long time for me to regain good health and this week was a long time coming!
Love going shopping and actually finding (3!) dresses on sale that I liked and fit! Sometimes when I’m shopping for a dress for a particular event, it feels daunting going into it and I usually put it off
I am loving that article about Type A people <–so much truth! Also loving the start of high school volleyball season here, which I coach!
Loving the OLYMPICS. I was super humbled when they showed the story of Usain Bolt telling the reporter they needed to pause for the U.S. national anthem.
I’m loving a rare no plans weekend! Lots of relaxing, enjoying the summer weather, and cooking in with the husband : )
I would love to try Beautycounter. The thing I am loving this week is our last beach trip of the season.
I’m loving my growing baby bump with each passing week!!
I’m loving quiet mornings this week. It’s been a crazy busy week, so taking ten minutes in the morning to chill out and snuggle with my pups is helping me survive!
I am loving having my boyfriend home from RIMPAC!
I would love to try beautycounter! Also, that egg white protein looks awesome, I will have to pick some up!
This week I am loving that our moving truck with all of our stuff finally came after “camping” in our new house for 2 weeks!
I’m also loving your August workout calendar! It’s helping to keep me on track while I don’t have a gym and my normal routine.
Oh – and one more thing: I finally got a chance to try Orange Theory on your recommendation. It was a lot of fun and I was sooooore. Loved it!
I’m loving the warm weather of the end of summer.
I’m loving our spontaneous weekend beach trip! It will definitely be fun , but not so relaxing with 2 babies!
I’m loving our county fair this week!!!!
I’m loving a weekend at home after being out of town last weekend!
I’m loving slightly cooler temps here in Michigan this week!
I am loving being back in a gym routine this week! I did not realize how much I missed it until I got back in the routine – and its so good to see my early morning gym friends again!
I finished a very stressful 2-day graduate school comprehensive exam earlier this week. So this week I’m loving being done with that and finally being able to de-stress!
loving getting settled in our new house – but exhausted from the constant projects we have from it! really want to try this charcoal mask!
I’m loving the back to school/work week and the feeling of getting back into a routine. Although I’m sad that my two week vacation and 8yo’s summer vaca is over, I’ve always loved that ‘fresh start’ feeling that a new school year brings.
Happy belated anniversary, Gina!
Loving a new yoga instructor that has joined the studio I go to! Her mantras about perspective woven into a tough flow have been exactly what I needed this week. Also loving that it’s Friyay and I’ve got a date with my mom for margaritas tonight 🙂
This week I am loving my body as it changes in my 17 week of pregnancy! Hello cleavage!
Loving reflecting on a healthy week and plans for being active this weekend. And that Type A article, thanks for sharing! Xo
