Little Goat

Hi guys! It’s INDIAN FOOD WEDNESDAY!! 😀 Are you celebrating? I’ve got a hot date with the buffet later… and my husband 😉 Heh heh.

Last night was so chill. I caught up on emails and read the 5th Harry Potter book. I’m trying to catch up, but that 5th book is a beast!

Dinner:

dinner

A lovely combination of:

-quinoa

-chickpeas

-steamed organic veggies

-kalamata olives

-Tahini and Garlic Gold

all wrapped up in romaine leaves

dinner (3)

(+ about 4 more- they couldn’t all fit on one plate)

As beautiful as the meal was, it was slightly messy to eat, especially since I was devouring it with gusto. The Pilot said I look like a little goat when I eat salads and the like.

I have no idea what he’s talking about 😉

This morning, I couldn’t wait to have some bfast cookie dough cereal:

001

The usual mix of

-1/2 C oats

-1 T nut butter (I used walmond butter)

-1/2 scoop Sun Warrior (deets on the awesome promo at the end of this post)

-cinnamon

-almond milk

-goji berries

-sliced banana

Well I’m off to walk the puppers and then teach bootcamp!

Hope you have a wonderful day <3

xoxo,

Gina

OpenSky is running a ridiculous Sun Warrior promo– $35 per pack! This stuff is usually around $50… it’s pricey, but it’s GOOD. You can get chocolate and vanilla for $65. These babies are going to go fast and the first 100 to order will also get a sample of chia seeds.

To guarantee that there are no order probs, all orders will be shipped on Monday. If you don’t receive your order when you’re supposed to, OpenSky will give ya a coupon/gift certificate.

🙁 I’ve been wanting to try it but will be broke until after the 1st! Do you know if they sell sample sizes? I hate to buy full size powders because I normally end up hating the flavors.

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 9:38 am

no they don’t have sample sizes, but i’ve tried pretty much every protein powder under the sun and this one is my fave. the vanilla is AWESOME 🙂
maybe after i get mine i can send you a scoop to try??

  4. Kelli on August 25, 2010 at 9:47 am

Just ordered my first ever Sun Warrior! I’m super excited to try it! I’m also going to try my first Indian recipe tonight in honor of Indian Food Wednesday. Hopefully it will turn out; we don’t have any Indian restaurants here! (BTW, I’m down near Columbus, GA. Not far from ya’ll!)

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:10 am

      enjoy!
let me know how it turns out!! 🙂

  5. Laura on August 25, 2010 at 9:48 am

  7. Jill on August 25, 2010 at 9:52 am

aww I wish I could get a piece of that action in Canada… I found a site that ships it to Canada but it’s $65 PER pack!

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:10 am

gahhh! hopefully opensky will get canadian shipping worked out soon

  8. Jessica @ How Sweet on August 25, 2010 at 9:53 am

    I LOL-ed at the goat!

  9. Karen on August 25, 2010 at 9:54 am

What a great price for Sun Warrior! I have been using Designer Whey protein powder for awhile. I am very happy with it, however, I have decided to switch to a vegan protein powder so that I can make smoothies for my sister (who is vegan) when she visits. I have been trying to decide between Sun Warrior and Vega Complete Whole Food Health Optimizer. What are your thoughts on the differences between the two as far as taste and nutrition? Thank you!

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:09 am

i like the fact that vega combines different types of protein and plant based nutrients, but love the simplicity and taste of sun warrior. they’re both amazing choices though

  10. Tracey @ I'm Not Superhuman on August 25, 2010 at 9:54 am

Next up on my reading list is the Harry Potter series. I’m hoping to finish it by the time the last movies come out in the fall and winter. I saw previews and they look kinda epic. Well, what I saw through shut eyes–I couldn’t spoil the books.

  11. Chandra on August 25, 2010 at 9:57 am

no love in Canada, eh? ;(

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:08 am

i know, ehh?? 🙁 they’re working on it.. the demand is so high so opensky is trying to get canadian shipping fo sho

  12. Joslyn (missfitbliss) on August 25, 2010 at 10:01 am

The picture of the goat is cute! My boyfriend says I look like a bunny when I devour salads.

  13. Holly @ couchpotatoathlete on August 25, 2010 at 10:02 am

Sweet deal on the Sun Warrior!

Oh, I love goats, so I’d take that as a compliment for sure 🙂

I made your microwave cake last night, it turned out beautiful!

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:07 am

wahoo! i’m glad you liked it 🙂

  14. Kirby on August 25, 2010 at 10:04 am

Yayyyy thank you – I just placed my order! Great promo. Hoping I get the chia seeds as well 🙂 I’ve never tried protein powder but have been really curious about it. Got the vanilla! Other than breakfast cookies and smoothies, do you have any suggestions of how to use it?

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:07 am

so awesome! you’ll love it . s.w. is also amazing in baked goods, chia pudding, protein ice cream and stirred into oatmeal

  15. Erin on August 25, 2010 at 10:06 am

Just like Karen, I typically use Designer Whey BUT you rave about Sun Warrior and I have not been disappointed with any of your advice yet so I replenished my protein stock today with some Vanilla SW. Very excited to try!! Annd hope I get to sample some of those Chia seeds : )

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:06 am

wahoo! you’ll love sun warrior 🙂 designer whey is great but the stats for s.w. are better and the taste is equally amazing

  16. Becky on August 25, 2010 at 10:07 am

Love the goat !! 😉 I ordered BOTH ! Can’t wait to try the chocolate….I got the vanilla with your last promo & LOVE it !!! Thanks for the great deal Gina 🙂 🙂

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:06 am

so awesome! vanilla is my fave but you’ll love the chocolate 🙂

  17. Laury @ thefitnessdish on August 25, 2010 at 10:08 am

Did you take that goat pic?? If so…WOW!! You are picking up on the SPR quickly!!

Love the sun warrior promo, I am partial to Vega, but maybe I will try a pack since it’s so cheap!

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:05 am

hahah no i didn’t take it!
if i would have ever been that close to a goat i probably would have adopted it 😉

      • Laury @ thefitnessdish on August 25, 2010 at 11:13 am

LOL! The bartender at this restaurant we go to down the shore was telling us that his wife adopted 4 goats…but he got them fixed, so no cheese 🙁

But he said his girls would run around and play with them outside..they have goats a horse, 8 cats, 3 dogs, 3 birds, and a lot of land…he said his wife vacuums like 5 times a day she’s a neat freak, lol. I want a goat now too!!! SOooo cute!

  18. Laury @ thefitnessdish on August 25, 2010 at 10:09 am

*SLR** I should really check my work before hitting enter

  19. justine on August 25, 2010 at 10:11 am

Hi Gina! Talking of chia seeds – can you possibly point me towards posts in which you have given some ideas how to use them? I know you’ve mentioned them before, and I finally got hold of some – but I’m scratching my head a bit. Thank you thank you!
My best friend is about to start keeping miniature goats, by the way. They are like bonsai versions of the original, and somewhat cuter..!!

    • Kristin on August 25, 2010 at 10:47 am

Have you tried the Vegan overnight oats from Ohsheglows? She uses 1 tblsp of chia seeds in it.

      • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 10:59 am

yeah i make an overnight chia pudding that is kind of similar. i was obsessed with it last summer!

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:05 am

ahhhh i want a miniature goat!
      some ideas:
protein chia pudding 1/4 C chia seeds, 3/4-1 C almond milk, 1/2 scoop sun warrior, stevia, cinnamon and vanilla topped with banana
      sprinkle in smoothies
add 1 T to 1/2 C milk and stir into oats in the morning
      chia chili cheese http://fitnessista.com/2009/07/grocery-goodies-and-chia-chili-cheese/

  20. Paige @ Running Around Normal on August 25, 2010 at 10:12 am

baaahah – love the goat comparison. And I’m only laughing because I’m sure I look like one when shoveling down salad, too! 🙂
I’m totally taking advantage of your Open Sky promo. I’m a Jay Rob Brown Rice protein pwder fan myself, but I’m also a Sun Warrior virgin. The ultimate taste test showdown! (Channeling my inner Bobby Flay)

  21. Allison W. on August 25, 2010 at 10:12 am

I had so many problems with the last OpenSky SunWarrior promo that I would be hesitant to order from them again… I ordered 2 vanilla, only 1 arrived. It took about 6 weeks to get the 2nd package. They did refund the cost of one, and also promised a coupon for a future order, but failed to deliver on that. I do like the Vanilla Sun Warrior, the taste and stats are great!

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:01 am

      hey girl,
if you ever have probs with an order, contact me and i’ll make sure it gets fixed!
if you send danny an email right now, he’ll get you your coupon

  22. Sarah Anne on August 25, 2010 at 10:34 am

SOOOOOOO Stinkin SAD! No shipping to Canada! 🙁 I love these promos, but I want some Sunwarrior! 🙁

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:00 am

i know 🙁 they’re working on getting shipping to canada, the demand has been really high!

I love that picture! Great action shot!

  25. joyce on August 25, 2010 at 10:48 am

I’m such a nerd that the salad was the 2nd thing that caught my attention from your post. The first? That you’re reading Harry Potter. Love it. lol.

  26. Shanna @ Shanna LIke Banana on August 25, 2010 at 10:50 am

My bestie’s hubby eats more like a goat than anyone I’ve ever seen. He’ll eat the parsley off people’s plates along with random other weird things (like the lemon rinds) and half the food is always out his mouth..hahahaha

  27. Kristin on August 25, 2010 at 10:52 am

I can’t believe you are able to put Harry Potter down, I read through most of the night since I was soo hooked. I’m sad on the Sun warrior, I just bought the vanilla.

  32. monicanelsonfitness on August 25, 2010 at 11:10 am

YES! Thanks for the deal, I was out of chocolate and just ordered some!! You rule:) ALso, I love Harry Potter, a client that I train, her daughter bought me a Harry Potter Coloring book, how cute, right?! The sad part…I have actually colored in it, what can I say, it is very theraputic!

  37. Dana Marie on August 25, 2010 at 11:24 am

ok thanks, I ordered! I feel like a crazy person since I’m unemployed but this still seems like a good idea despite shipping and tax because I think I’m better off just getting two bags than three (from the sun warrior people deal)–hopefully I’ll get the seeds, I’ve wanted to try them! Thanks for your quote too! Agnes DeMille — I’m dancer/former dancer

    • Fitnessista on August 25, 2010 at 11:26 am

i hope you get the chia seeds too!
also a former dancer 🙂 i miss it like crazy

  38. Dana Marie on August 25, 2010 at 11:28 am

Did you have an injury? I’ve had some issues with knee, plus the stress of the competition paired with the economy have kept me out on the sidelines for a bit :\
    THanks for running the promo
