Don’t you love when something totally unexpected makes your day a little brighter?


(Gorgeous full moon last night! Now if only I knew how to make my camera photograph it like an actual moon instead of a dot, that’d be kinda cool)

Well, that’s what happened yesterday 🙂


First I was excited to see a package that didn’t have the Amazon smiley face on it –those tend to pop up over here pretty frequently- and then I saw “perishable food” and things got even more ridic.


A package of Chicago foodie goodies from our good friends Mara and Adam 🙂

Carol’s cookies, Garrett’s popcorn and a deep dish pizza. No words.

I couldn’t open the popcorn fast enough….


and put the pizza in the oven, just in time for the Pilot to get home from work.


Random acts of kindness are truly amazing, and whenever someone does something nice for me, it makes me want to share the positive energy with someone else… so I thought it would be a great day for a giveaway- it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those over here!

After reading the comments on yesterday’s YouTube fitness post, I remembered that many of you also enjoy working out at home, so I thought I’d share one of my favorite at-home workouts with a blog friend:

It makes it even harder to choose because Shaun T. is fun and verryyyy nice to look at, and Chalene is a firecracker of motivation and energy.

    I’ve done Tracy Anderson …eh. I’m now doing Romana Braganza and carido in between with a sprinkle of my fav .. yoga. I ALMOST got turbo fire after reading about here, maybe next go around.

    Awesome giveaway!! I loved your post on YouTube Fitness yesterday! I am ALWAYS looking for something new to try, and recently discovered the OnDemand fitness channel. 🙂 My favorite at home workout would have to be the dvd Pick Your Spot Pilates.

    My favorite workout at home is the treadmill – not because I love the treadmill per se, but because I can watch whatever I want when I do it! I’m moving into an apartment this weekend and there’s a resident who teaches Zumba 4 times a week for $35 unlimited/month. That paired with the small fitness center will be great, but I’d like to have something awesome to do in my apartment, too!

    I personally would be all over the high energy/kickboxing/cardio option! I do a lot of ‘crossfit like’ workouts at home and fell in love with the booty blaster you posted yesterday!!

    I love a home workout! My favorite is 5 or 6 cardio and toning moves I can go through 3 times like burpees, pushups, planks, and squat jumps. OUCH!!!!!

    I have a treadmill, so my favorite at-home workout is a good walk or run. Although right now, prenatal yoga is my go-to way to work out and de-stress!

    My favorite is my love/hate relationship with The Shred. I have such a live/hate for Jillian Michaels, and although I see results, if I hear her comments about “just taking the stairs” or “phoning it in” one more time, I’m going to go crazy! I work loooong hours so at-home videos are my best option, and I’m in desperate need of a new option 🙂

    I currently am unemployed so the gym isn’t really option. Instead I love to workout in my apartment! I do Jillian Michaels’ Burn Fat and Boost Metabolism DVD and I get a great workout! I’ve tried Turbofire a couple times before but would love to own it!!

    My favorite at home workout is a 30 minute workout that I got out of a box of Special K about 2 years ago. I love to pop that in for something different!

    My favorite workout is cardio intervals on the treadmill followed by some intense weight lifting. I have done Jillian Michaels’ Burn Fat Boost Metabolism and really enjoyed the pace and was sore the next day!

    My favorite at home workout is Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred! Such a great workout in a short period of time; especially good for new mothers with little time to spare! 🙂

    I have been loving ZWOW! I’m so happy to see Zuzana back after she left bodyrock!! I also like putting together quick tabata drills together..such a great way to get in a killer workout when I’m crunched on time. Today I tried out some Tara Stiles yoga after seeing your post from yesterday and loovvved it! Thanks for all the great at home recommendations 🙂

    my favorite at home workout is probably making up/practicing Zumba routines. working out on the job is awesome (as you know!).
    so funny that you're doing this giveaway now… my friend recently became a beachbody coach and she's hosting an 8-week challenge on my campus based on the turbofire workouts, so i've been thinking about purchasing them.

    I’ve been dying to try Turbo Fire! My favorite at home work out is rocking it out on Just Dance on the Wii and doing it all out so I get a good sweat going!

    My faves are Pop Pilates–Cassey’s videos are so fun and creative! I used to really love BodyRock but with all the changes to the site and the high intensity of the workouts I wasn’t loving them as much, so I haven’t done any in awhile. I might start to do a BR workout once a week, though. I’d love to try Turbo Fire!!

    I am so excited to try the new Zuzana workouts! I had no idea she had her own site now, and I love that she does it right there in front of more writing the workout down and then forgetting what I wrote down meant! haha…I also love all JM stuff and bodyrock. I would love to try the Turbofire, but I have no rhythm, so maybe the Insanity would be better for me…! 😛

    Self just published a Shaun T. Insanity workout in their last issue. I’ve been LOVING that. Although, I’m pretty sure the people in the apartment below me are not happy about it… It’s still so hard though, after doing it for weeks. I thought from lots of cycling and running my quads were strong… but they still aren’t strong enough to do that work out without taking a break!!

    My favorite at home work out is p90x 🙂 Tony Horton helped me bring my fitness to a whole other level. I accomplished my first chin ups and pull ups with the work out DVD set.

    my favourite at home workout is the original Power 90 haha before P90X and all that. I haven’t been able to afford any of the newer Beach Body programs but I still go to my old standby of Power 90 when needed 🙂

    I’m a huge fan of the Jillian Michaels workout videos. I especially like 30-day shred because even on my laziest days I know I can work out for at LEAST 30 minutes, then it usually motivates me to do another video or go on a run.
