Week of giveaways: Final Giveaway- ENDED

This week has been pretty much amazeballs. Thank you again to everyone for participating, sending blog love, and for your kind and wonderful comments. I’m truly lucky to *know* all of you, and am also grateful to the companies who generously sponsored the week of giveaways.

Breakfast cookie2

Congratulations to the Home Goods giveaway winner!

Mary:

“I LOVE the poppy flower wall decals in my kitchen. They do a great job brightening up the space.”

Please send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject: HOME GOODS WINNER!) and I’ll get your prize on the way 🙂

Today’s giveaway, the final one, is sponsored by one of my all-time favorite workout companies, along with Livi and Bella.

I fell in love with Physique 57 two years ago, and if we had a studio in Tucson, it would be one of my regular workout spots. Nothing has made my thighs thighs and biscuits burn quite like P57. I’m so glad they have DVDs you can do at home if you don’t have a studio near you, and I’ve done the DVDs quite a few times in addition to the usual workout suspects. I see and feel a huge difference when I have P57 in my life, and anytime I’m in NY or LA I’m excited to take a live class.

The winner of this giveaway will receive a volume 2 Physique 57 DVD, courtesy of Physique 57,

NewImage

and will also win a Polar FT40 heart rate monitor, which I’ll order for you,

NewImage

plus a batch of custom macaroons (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon with cacao nibs and goji berries, or Meyer-lemon lavender)

NewImage

and whatever Whole Foods/TJs goodies find their way into the box 😉

I absolutely love my Polar heart rate monitor and wear it for all of my high-intensity workouts. Since I know how much I’m burning, I can get an idea of how much more I need to eat that day, and I always push myself a little harder when I can see how hard I’m working. It’s a fantastic workout tool and was even more helpful while I was pregnant, so I knew not to let my heart rate get too crazy high.

-With the Summer Shape Up beginning this week, this giveaway will end on FRIDAY, 6/15.

This giveaway has ended! Congratulations to the winner, Natalie.

This is my favorite giveaway so far the DVDs and the polar monitor are some things I have wanted for a very long time but I could never afford them on my own! There are sooo many reasons I have been reading this blog for the past four years but mainly because you offer so much variety! I love the Focus On post, they may be my favorite and I go back to them frequently whenever I’m deciding to try a new fitness class or DVD. I’m only 21 but I love the family post because I take of a baby full time, and you have been very helpful! I would like to see more videos! Things like how to’s (more hair ideas please!) , product reviews, fitness challenges/ quick workout videos. Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much to all of you for your amazing feedback, comments and sweet wishes. I’m so fortunate to have you in my life, and stay tuned for many more giveaways!

Thank you all so much for reading my little blog and for hanging out with me over here <3

Here’s to another amazing year!

xoxo

I love your blog a lot and it’s the first healthy living blog I started reading. Like many have said, I like balance between healthy lifestyle and stories about your family. Recently, I noticed some things that you changed and I love that you are continuously looking to improve. I like that you started making some videos (can’t wait to try the waterfall braid) and have pictures of all the workout moves (in the never ending mirrors). I also like that you’re putting either Meg or Gina on the Fashion posts titles. Overall, I usually skip over Meg’s fashion posts (that is nothing against Meg, her style is just not my style), but love everything else.

Lastly, I would love to see the recipe for your macaroons!! Maybe in a book someday???

I love how your eats are ‘real’ and you really set a good role model for body image/food viewing 🙂

  4. Leah on June 10, 2012 at 6:59 pm

I really enjoy all of the different workouts. Sometimes I get in a rut and I’m not sure what to do at the gym, so I love it when you create workouts! I’d like to see more of these in the future.

Fitnessista is the perfect blend of family, fitness, food and fun! I love how your incorporate your family into the blog and the recipes are to die for! My favorite, so far, being the breakfast cookie 🙂 In the future, I would love to see additional recipes, maybe even a holiday special to help with preparing for thanksgiving/christmas? Just a thought 🙂 Thanks again for all of your hard work it is so appreciated!

I’ve been a reader for 2 years and I always look forward to your posts. What I love most: I love seeing how much you are in love with Olivia, She’s so adorable and you’re such a wonderful momma! I love your workouts and how upbeat you are. Truly an inspiration!

  7. Amy on June 10, 2012 at 7:01 pm

I love how honest and real you are about all of the different aspects of your life (exercise, parenting, eating, family, etc.).

  8. Sarah on June 10, 2012 at 7:01 pm

I love your blog and seeing pictures of how you eat. It always gives me good ideas for dinner, or what to order when I’m going out to a restaurant.

  9. Stevi on June 10, 2012 at 7:01 pm

I love your blog, the content, the food, the buttons, the only think I can think of that I would change is the photo on the left side. While it’s pretty and badass, I think changing it up to something more playful would fit a little better. I would love to see something like a Vrikshasana (tree yoga pose) or just a cute smiling photo! 🙂 I’d love to see even more great recipes, especially some good easy recipes!
Thank you so much for the great blog! I love it!

  10. Sara on June 10, 2012 at 7:01 pm

Gina, I love your blog, it’s my favorite & aways exciting when you pop up on my reader! One of my favorite things about the blog is the family page. I love how you shared so much of your pregnancy, birth and now parenting with us. As someone who does not have children, but hopes to someday it is informative and real. I appreciate your honesty. You have also proven that you can keep fitness and family a priorty, which is inspiring. What I’d love to see more of is Q&A, like the video you and the pilot made a while back. 🙂 Best of luck in the new blog year!

Love your blog! I have lost 26 pounds in the last few months and still have plenty to go! One thing that I have noticed is that my booty is getting kind of flat. Anything to help with that>

Hi Gina! Your blog was the very first blog that I ever started reading. It totally changed my perspective on healthy eating and helped me transition from eating frozen, processed meals to eating real, healthy foods and LOVING them. I would love to see more workouts like the summer/winter shape up. I love them! Thank you for doing what you do 🙂

  21. Jennifer F on June 10, 2012 at 7:08 pm

I really enjoy the current content and variety of posts. I have learned a lot of new fitness techniques, such as planks and the easy moves to help with love handles. The only issue I have encountered is trying to locate workouts that are not posted under the fitness tab that I recall at a later date and want to check out again. Though there could be a way to do this and the issue is me! I am always motivated to go workout when I read your posts about teaching fitness classes and they make me wish I was coordinated enough to dance and keep up with an instructor!

  22. Melanie B on June 10, 2012 at 7:08 pm

I realllllly like your workouts with the photos you’ve done recently!! Helps when you print it out to bring to the gym.

I like the ideas for meals on the fly. I think it would be helpful to have a section entitled “Getting Started” where you could post inspirational things for those of us just beginning our fitness journeys. Oh, and you could choose guest posts of “fitnessistas on the move” where you could focus on people who were starting out in fitness. You could interview them on what is working for them and what isn’t, and include pre-program pictures and in progress pictures. OR! You could choose four people a year and update with them once a week. (Four people, four weeks, one blog per person per month) Those are always my favorite magazine articles, where the people are striving towards fitness, but they are real people, so they stumble. You could help them find eating plans and fitness goals and document their progress along the way. You could choose a gamut of people from really unfit to people just trying to clean up their eating…

i love your blog and your site is really well done and organized. I think only thing would be working on your recipe page :)more recipes?

  27. Cassie D. on June 10, 2012 at 7:11 pm

I love everything about your blog, but especially the family page. I’m a fairly new reader, and I really love all the advice you give and the way you document everything. As someone who is just starting to think about starting a family (probably in the next couple years), all your posts have been so informative and helpful. But I have to say overall, I just love the balance of your posts – recipes, workouts, everyday life stuff. Overall, I just love it<3

  28. bobbileigh on June 10, 2012 at 7:12 pm

I love your blog and the main things I would have suggested you have been incorporating more of anyways. I work out at home or at a small apartment gym, so exercises with minimal equipment are great. I would definitely be doing the SSU if I wasnt sidelined with an injury, but in a few months once I am full recovered I will pull it up and do it then. Also, I love that you have been including more recipes on the blog. Love the Chicken Caprese Salad. Of course everyone loves the giveaways and that is so sweet of you to give back to your readers.

  29. Lara F. on June 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm

I love your blog and cannot think of any real/important comments. One thing I’d be interested in is your tips for easy, everyday ways to live healthier, e.g. ingredient switcheroos in recipes, “move of the day”, etc. Just food for thought.

  30. Maren on June 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm

I love your blog! Having more on the go snack options and more recipes…you can never have too many recipes! Especially because you are such a clean eater. You look absolutely amazing after having Liv! I hope when I have children I look like you do! 😉

  31. Angela on June 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm

I really love your blog–it’s a must-check-daily (and sometimes hourly) website for me! I love love love your workouts–they really changed how I work out and have given me some great ideas. I’m excited to start on the Summer Shape-up tomorrow! I’ve also found some great food ideas from you– including the egg puff, breakfast cookie, and SunWarrior powder to name a few!! Thank you so much!

  32. Lane on June 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm

I love the Summer/Winter Shape Ups. I look forward to those every season!

  33. Claire on June 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm

I appreciate the way you mix up fitness posts with recipes, showing what you eat during the day, and the way you document your family life. It’s a nice balance! I’ve made a few of your recipes with success, so more simple dinner ideas would be great!

  37. Amy on June 10, 2012 at 7:16 pm

Your blog is great all-around, but I love your workout plans! I am a big fan of the Summer Shape-up!

I love how you make clean eating simple and accessible for all! Thanks for taking the time to provide links explaining exercise moves within a routine. Sometimes I’m like, “Side kettle squat deadlift press what?” and after clicking on the link I know exactly what to do complete with correct form. Good luck in the next year and thanks for the sweet giveaway!

I’m gushing, but I love everything about your blog. I read it daily and have suggested it to so many of my friends. They love it, too! In the next year, I’d love to see more posts on mental habits to get healthy, like believing and loving in yourself. Even if we’re in the best physical shape, we might not be in the best mental shape. Thanks again for the wonderful blog!

  43. Jess on June 10, 2012 at 7:19 pm

  49. Angela on June 10, 2012 at 7:24 pm

The biggest change to your blog that I love is the addition of funny little stories and melting photos of Livi. It’s like getting a tiny peek into your life. I look forward to seeing her and your family grow.

  50. Kate on June 10, 2012 at 7:27 pm

I’d like to see more workout ideas for time-pressed people and the strength-training challenged like myself. I’m a mom to a 7 month old who works full time and I’m always looking for ways to get the most out of a quick strength session. Otherwise, I love the blog. Keep up the good work!
