Week of giveaways: Final Giveaway- ENDED

This week has been pretty much amazeballs. Thank you again to everyone for participating, sending blog love, and for your kind and wonderful comments. I’m truly lucky to *know* all of you, and am also grateful to the companies who generously sponsored the week of giveaways.

Breakfast cookie2

Congratulations to the Home Goods giveaway winner!

Mary:

“I LOVE the poppy flower wall decals in my kitchen. They do a great job brightening up the space.”

Please send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject: HOME GOODS WINNER!) and I’ll get your prize on the way 🙂

Today’s giveaway, the final one, is sponsored by one of my all-time favorite workout companies, along with Livi and Bella.

I fell in love with Physique 57 two years ago, and if we had a studio in Tucson, it would be one of my regular workout spots. Nothing has made my thighs thighs and biscuits burn quite like P57. I’m so glad they have DVDs you can do at home if you don’t have a studio near you, and I’ve done the DVDs quite a few times in addition to the usual workout suspects. I see and feel a huge difference when I have P57 in my life, and anytime I’m in NY or LA I’m excited to take a live class.

The winner of this giveaway will receive a volume 2 Physique 57 DVD, courtesy of Physique 57,

NewImage

and will also win a Polar FT40 heart rate monitor, which I’ll order for you,

NewImage

plus a batch of custom macaroons (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon with cacao nibs and goji berries, or Meyer-lemon lavender)

NewImage

and whatever Whole Foods/TJs goodies find their way into the box 😉

I absolutely love my Polar heart rate monitor and wear it for all of my high-intensity workouts. Since I know how much I’m burning, I can get an idea of how much more I need to eat that day, and I always push myself a little harder when I can see how hard I’m working. It’s a fantastic workout tool and was even more helpful while I was pregnant, so I knew not to let my heart rate get too crazy high.

-With the Summer Shape Up beginning this week, this giveaway will end on FRIDAY, 6/15.

This giveaway has ended! Congratulations to the winner, Natalie.

This is my favorite giveaway so far the DVDs and the polar monitor are some things I have wanted for a very long time but I could never afford them on my own! There are sooo many reasons I have been reading this blog for the past four years but mainly because you offer so much variety! I love the Focus On post, they may be my favorite and I go back to them frequently whenever I’m deciding to try a new fitness class or DVD. I’m only 21 but I love the family post because I take of a baby full time, and you have been very helpful! I would like to see more videos! Things like how to’s (more hair ideas please!) , product reviews, fitness challenges/ quick workout videos. Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much to all of you for your amazing feedback, comments and sweet wishes. I’m so fortunate to have you in my life, and stay tuned for many more giveaways!

Thank you all so much for reading my little blog and for hanging out with me over here <3

Here’s to another amazing year!

xoxo

I love the family page! I just had a baby girl in April and your insight on pregnancy/motherhood was such an encouragement to me! Now that I am getting back to the gym I am sooooo excited for the summer shape up to help me get back into shape :).

I would love to see more recipes, especially for some of the ethnic dishes you enjoy (Indian food, Thai, Mexican). I love those foods but they seem intimidating to make at home.

I really enjoy your blog- keep up the great work!

  3. Megan on June 10, 2012 at 9:50 pm

I think you’ve done a great job finding a balance between pages as your family life has changed over the last year. I would also enjoy more simple recipes, and I’ve really been liking your posts lately about cooking a big batch of grains/veggies etc to last you several days. That is how I tend to cook, especially in the summer when I’m busy but still trying to eat healthily.

P57 workouts look fun and challenging, I would love to try them! My gym is only open M-F and I struggle to get good workouts in during the weekend. These DVDs would certainly help there! I really enjoy your blog.

I would love to see more videos! I love your blog as is though 🙂

  5. Sarah Huggins on June 10, 2012 at 9:51 pm

I love your site, and your cookie dough cereal recipe was a stand by for 2 weeks straight last week! I think you are awesome and I enjoy reading your posts! More recipes! xoxo

  10. Kimberly C on June 10, 2012 at 9:53 pm

I love your blog and there is not too much I would change about it. I love that you include Olivia. I really appreciate that you give us a glimpse of your life. One thing that I would like to see possibly is workouts that only use your body weight and no special equipment as a way to tone up. But I love your blog. Its my favorite one to read! And I love the fashion page!

I love the family page because I have a newborn so I like to see how you are doing things. I also will tackle the workouts once I am able to exercise. I need these DVDs!

  13. Corinne on June 10, 2012 at 9:54 pm

This just might be the giveaway from my dreams! ‘Roons AND workout DVDs?! Holy moly.

I love how real you keep it on the blog- you’re totally honest about the challenges of being a new Mom and balancing fitness/family/blog/life but even when discussing the challenges you have such an inspiring attitude and positive outlook. It’s inspiring 🙂

I always love seeing workouts on the blog that I can do at home with little/no equipment (I think I’m going to l-o-v-e the summer shape up!) so keep ’em coming!

I’d love to see some more recipes though 😉 Does the pilot eat most of the same food you do?

  14. Sarah on June 10, 2012 at 9:54 pm

I love all your cute how-to hair videos~ i tried the loose waves the other day and they were adorable! I also love your recipes- because they are so real life and use pantry ingredients, i love to try them!

  15. Emily L on June 10, 2012 at 9:54 pm

Love the content of the blog, but to be honest, I’d love to see you mix it up – change up the banner, background pic, color, something… Love reading each day 🙂

total re-vamp is actually in the works right now- hoping for it to be live within a couple of weeks! i’ve been sick of the look of my blog for at least 6 months 🙂

I love pretty much everything you write about here on the blog. It’s amazing to see your beautiful little girl grow and your little family’s true happiness really shows – you’re so lucky! Of course Bells shouldn’t be forgotten, her sassy little face is always fun to watch. 😉

Wow! What an amazing giveaway! I found your blog a couple years ago and have been hooked ever since! You give us readers a great balance of fashion, food, family, and fitness! I have always considered myself a healthy person but your blog has elevated my nutrition and fitness routine that much more! My husband is amazed by how many jars of almond butter I go thru! I would love to see more grocery lists and how you and the Pilot keep on a budget! And of course more Livi and Bella!

  20. Allison on June 10, 2012 at 10:00 pm

I love getting a glimpse into your life everyday, and I really appreciate the family page and getting the sense of what your personal life is like beyond your professional life. It makes it that much more exciting to read the blog everyday! One thing I would like to see more of would be some more of your simple recipes. Keep it up!

  21. Laura on June 10, 2012 at 10:02 pm

I love how you are constantly changing up your topics from family to fitness to food. You also give really great fitness tips and tricks. I agree with a previous poster that it would be interesting to see how you and the Pilot stay on budget when it comes to food and baby items!

I found your blog a little over a year ago. I love how open you are about everything and how you let us all into your life. I’m just recently married and hope to have kids one day. Following you throughout your pregnancy and the birth of Livi has been very inspiring. You seem like such a strong, healthy, and passionate wife and mom. I’d love to see more of your healthy recipes. The breakfast cookie and cookie dough cereal are two of my all time favorites!

  32. Cellabella on June 10, 2012 at 10:12 pm

I really love your fashion posts and if you had even more of them, that would be great. Not that I want less of the other posts 😉 but that recent waterfall braid – gorgeous!! And congrats on your blog-iversary and thank you so much for hosting all these awesome giveaways!

  33. AngelaB. on June 10, 2012 at 10:12 pm

I love the workouts and the “focus on” posts the best and would like you to keep updating the fashion page so frequently. The beauty tips on the fashion page have been pretty amazing!

  34. Amy on June 10, 2012 at 10:15 pm

I love the workouts that you create and post. They are always challenging and help to keep things from getting boring at the gym. I’m excited to start the Summer Shape-Up tomorrow (it’ll be my first one!) Keep ’em coming!

  37. J on June 10, 2012 at 10:16 pm

    What I love:
    1. I stumbled upon your blog by luck when I was looking for a beginner’s weightlifting workout for women. I’ve been an avid runner all my life, but I had no clue where to begin for workouts more focused on toning. I really love the series of workouts you posted that I can incorporate into my post-run regimen. I would really appreciate it if you continue to post a variety of circuit workouts that I can easily replicate at home.

    2. I love the healthy relationship you have with food. You seem to genuinely enjoy healthy eating and are able to indulge in hearty meals without feeling guilt. I’ve struggled with eating disorders for many years. While I have regained the weight I had lost and try my best to maintain a healthy diet, I still have a funny relationship with food. I’m inspired by your food/recipe posts because they remind me that I need healthy eating to maintain fitness and happiness.

    3. I love your posts about your family and your love for them. I’ve been living alone in the States for the past decade, with my family still in Korea. Your family-related posts remind me how dear family and other relationships are in my life.

    Critiques:

    1. Do you have any experience taking or teaching group classes other than Zumba? I practice different types of yoga regularly, but not quite sure which type of yoga would be best for toning. Also if you have exposure to more exotic/unconventional classes such as pole dancing, belly dancing, etc., I would like to read your reviews!

    2. I would like to see more variety of workouts that incorporate a stability ball.
(or more generally, any workouts I can squeeze in during few minutes of free time at home)

    3. I would also like to hear more tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle on a budget. As a fresh college graduate, I don’t think I can afford to shop at Whole Foods or Farmers’ markets all the time (especially since I live in a city with one of the highest cost of living). I would appreciate tips on saving money while not compromising healthy as much as possible.

Of course, I appreciate your blog as it is now, but I wanted to throw some honest ideas out if you’re looking for ways to make it even better!

    Best,
    J

    • J on June 10, 2012 at 10:25 pm

One more critique–more technical– sometimes I would just like to flip through the comments without rereading the main post(which I think, a lot of other people do as well)– but as it is now, when I click on previous or next pages of comments, the browser jumps right to the beginning. Don’t mean to sound like a so whiny, I do appreciate everything you do, but I hope these critiques help!

  38. Jesi on June 10, 2012 at 10:16 pm

As a fellow new mom, I obviously love the family posts, but I also appreciate that you always mix it up and keep a great balance of a variety of topics!

I would love to see how you and the Pilot stay on budget with food, tips on how you lose weight after pregnancy, and a few more blog posts about fashion 😉
I’ve been following your blog for a while, though, and I love your Shape Up plans, how you talk about your family and pets (who ARE family, I know!) , and your breakfasts and whatnot! 🙂

  46. Emily on June 10, 2012 at 10:24 pm

WOW-great giveaway-I have always wanted a heartrate monitor but haven’t been able to afford one.

I love how candid you are on your family page with your growing family-really gives me a great idea of what to expect when I grow my family from 2 to 3.

I also ADORE your how-to hair posts. I am helpless when it comes to my hair and have bought hot rollers because of you-THANKS! Can’t wait to try the wave braid you put up the other day.

The only thing I would like to see would be maybe some more recipes? I know you are busy so that’s a lot to ask, but I love trying new things!

    Thanks!

  47. Nicole M. on June 10, 2012 at 10:27 pm

I love how personable you seem to be! And the fact that you post what you eat almost daily. (Most bloggers get sick of that, but it’s my favorite part!) I don’t think there’s much.. if anything.. you really need to change. Just keep doing what you’re doing and I’ll continue to be a happy reader!

  48. The Hobby Lobbyist on June 10, 2012 at 10:27 pm

Love the blog! I would love to see even more reviews of workout videos, programs, etc.

  49. Julie on June 10, 2012 at 10:28 pm

Awesome giveaway! Feedback: I really love your blog and everything you offer. Maybe more body weight exercises? I know you already do a lot of these though. I am just cheap and don’t want to pay for a gym 🙂

  50. Anna S on June 10, 2012 at 10:29 pm

I’d love more fitness tips/workouts. Also perhaps more meal ideas!
