Week of giveaways: Final Giveaway- ENDED

This week has been pretty much amazeballs. Thank you again to everyone for participating, sending blog love, and for your kind and wonderful comments. I’m truly lucky to *know* all of you, and am also grateful to the companies who generously sponsored the week of giveaways.

Breakfast cookie2

Congratulations to the Home Goods giveaway winner!

Mary:

“I LOVE the poppy flower wall decals in my kitchen. They do a great job brightening up the space.”

Please send me your info (fitnessista at gmail dot com, subject: HOME GOODS WINNER!) and I’ll get your prize on the way 🙂

Today’s giveaway, the final one, is sponsored by one of my all-time favorite workout companies, along with Livi and Bella.

I fell in love with Physique 57 two years ago, and if we had a studio in Tucson, it would be one of my regular workout spots. Nothing has made my thighs thighs and biscuits burn quite like P57. I’m so glad they have DVDs you can do at home if you don’t have a studio near you, and I’ve done the DVDs quite a few times in addition to the usual workout suspects. I see and feel a huge difference when I have P57 in my life, and anytime I’m in NY or LA I’m excited to take a live class.

The winner of this giveaway will receive a volume 2 Physique 57 DVD, courtesy of Physique 57,

NewImage

and will also win a Polar FT40 heart rate monitor, which I’ll order for you,

NewImage

plus a batch of custom macaroons (chocolate, mocha, blonde, super roon with cacao nibs and goji berries, or Meyer-lemon lavender)

NewImage

and whatever Whole Foods/TJs goodies find their way into the box 😉

I absolutely love my Polar heart rate monitor and wear it for all of my high-intensity workouts. Since I know how much I’m burning, I can get an idea of how much more I need to eat that day, and I always push myself a little harder when I can see how hard I’m working. It’s a fantastic workout tool and was even more helpful while I was pregnant, so I knew not to let my heart rate get too crazy high.

-With the Summer Shape Up beginning this week, this giveaway will end on FRIDAY, 6/15.

This giveaway has ended! Congratulations to the winner, Natalie.

This is my favorite giveaway so far the DVDs and the polar monitor are some things I have wanted for a very long time but I could never afford them on my own! There are sooo many reasons I have been reading this blog for the past four years but mainly because you offer so much variety! I love the Focus On post, they may be my favorite and I go back to them frequently whenever I’m deciding to try a new fitness class or DVD. I’m only 21 but I love the family post because I take of a baby full time, and you have been very helpful! I would like to see more videos! Things like how to’s (more hair ideas please!) , product reviews, fitness challenges/ quick workout videos. Hope this helps :)

Thank you so much to all of you for your amazing feedback, comments and sweet wishes. I’m so fortunate to have you in my life, and stay tuned for many more giveaways!

Thank you all so much for reading my little blog and for hanging out with me over here <3

Here’s to another amazing year!

xoxo

    Hi Gina,

I’ve been reading your blog for a year now and I think that your blog has a nice balance between personal/family stuff, food & fitness. You are a very talented writer and you are really doing a good job here 🙂 From your website I’ve learned that even if you have a very busy job it is still possible to eat healthy and exercise, so thank you for that. No changes for me, but I must say that I am still very curious about the ‘fun page’ 🙂 X

  2. Melissa (Better Fit) on June 11, 2012 at 5:21 am

I love the honesty and openness that you have on your blog, and the fact that you so successfully manage to balance healthy living information with fun, shenanigans and fashion. It’s not an easy balance to achieve! In terms of improvements… maybe some more videos?

Happy blogiversary, and here’s to another 4 years!! 🙂

I like the blog as it is, but would like to see more general fitness stuff on it I think.

  5. marinka on June 11, 2012 at 5:46 am

I guess I’m not enetering the giveaway since macaroons would die before reaching Croatia:(( but would be great to get the dvd(cause this summer I’ll need to do a lot of home excercise-since our classes stop during the summer, and I need inspiration!) + heart monitor would be amazing since I’m planning to train for a marathon that’s this autumn(it would be my first ever)…but I can dream, right?:)
as for blog- since I also do zumba I’d love you to focus more on zumba, and give more videos:)
I also love the family page since I have a little one
The recipes are also great. My favourite now is your green-a colada but without protein powder, since we don’t have that stuff here.

  6. Jennie on June 11, 2012 at 5:47 am

Gina, I love your blog already and honestly can’t think of much improvements. Maybe some more recipes would be great? I a big fan of your slow cooker recipes. Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway! 🙂

  7. Emilia on June 11, 2012 at 6:17 am

I love your blog for it’s fun attitude and informative posts. If there’s anything that I’d like to see more of, it’s probably more recipes (though that’s obviously quite difficult). Everything I’ve made from your blog has been fantastic. Happy blog-aversary!

  8. Karen on June 11, 2012 at 6:32 am

I love your workout reviews, your recipes and the snippets of family life. I am also a fan of your posts on how you organize yourself or fit health into your very busy lifestyle.

One of the things that derails my healthy choices both when it comes to food and working out is busyness. Full time employment, graduate class, raising four kids Kindergarten through college can sometimes give me the perfect reason to skip a workout or eat fast food. Thing is, the momentary relief of not putting on the workout shoes and doing 10 min with Zuzka Light or jumping rope or whatever gives way to feeling even more run down later. It is worth the struggle to put in that few minutes for myself more days than not. I love when you discuss motivation, fitting things in, planning your food for busy days etc… And I love the glimpse of your to do and shopping lists.

Thanks for what you do and for sharing a bit of your life.

I love your balanced approach to eating, working out, and motherhood! As a soon to be new mom, I appreciate the gentleness of your blog and how encouraging you are! I would love to have a “pregnancy” section on your blog so I can follow along in my own pregnancy where you were! Keep it up!

I love your Focus On posts! It’s a way for me to learn about new workout material, without having to test it out myself 😉 haha

  11. Katie C @ state of change on June 11, 2012 at 6:49 am

I love seeing what you eat, it gives me inspiration for meals to make for myself! Not to mention how well you balance the different aspects of health. Oh, and I also love all your pregnancy workout tips for future reference 🙂

I like getting new ideas from seeing what you are eating. It’s nice to know there is someone else that is trying to eat healthy. I also like to see your playlists.

I love everything about your blog already but I really like seeing family stories/Livi stories since I’m pregnant and that’s kind of the stage of life I’m at 🙂 I still love everything else though as well!

  16. Danielle on June 11, 2012 at 7:18 am

I love all your recipe posts! I also like learning about cool new products, and the pictures of your puppy are adorable/hilarious. (I also have a little white dog, but she’s a maltese). Your daughter is beautiful !

I love the “Focus On’ blogs that you have done, they bring the creative edge I need when my workouts are starting to feel mundane. Thank for always being genuine that too shows in the blog.

  19. Ty Benjamin on June 11, 2012 at 7:24 am

I absolutely LOVE your website! I visit just about everyday. As a personal trainer and group fitness instructor myself, I like to see your great balance between work, working out, and motherhood. My husband and I just celebrated 3 years this past week and have decided to start TTC baby #1. I’ve truly enjoyed reading about your experience with Liv and the feedback you give on being a new mom – what works and what doesn’t. I have a vision of starting my own business after baby #1 for post-natal moms so I was glad to see you get back into working out and making time for fitness post partum. Keep up the great work! And I pray that God watches over your family!

  20. Sara on June 11, 2012 at 7:26 am

I like seeing you balance motherhood, working out and healthy eating. As a mom with a young daughter this is really important to me. I also really appreciate the encouragement that you give no matter where your starting point in fitness is. In one of your posts you mentioned about someone being self conscious about being overweight at the gym and you said to get out there no one was paying attention to you and if they were they probably wanted to congratulate you on doing something. It was something along those lines and it really helped my mental outlook.

  29. Liz on June 11, 2012 at 7:54 am

I love the exercise suggestions and plans. More of them! I’m so much more likely to actually exercise if someone tells me what to do. 🙂 Keep up the awesomeness!

  35. Liz on June 11, 2012 at 8:00 am

I love reading about Livi- keep it coming. Also would be interested in hearing how you strike such a good work/life balance. Would love to hear more about your routines and how you find time for everything. I especially ask this because I pump for my son as well and sometimes it feels like that is all I do. I feel like I can’t have a normal life because I am chained to the pump. Anyway, keep up the great work, love your blog!

  36. Bruna on June 11, 2012 at 8:01 am

I love your whole blog, and I honestly can’t see much room for improvement…
The only thing I would like to see more is tips on how to create or update our playlists…
I always struggle when I have to set up the music for a long run or a new workout routine, maybe some professional advice would help?!

  37. Sarah on June 11, 2012 at 8:02 am

I pinned your “homemade” marinara! Love these little tips 🙂

  38. Dana Wansing on June 11, 2012 at 8:07 am

I love your family posts : ) If you have favorite recipes that you haven’t already posted I’d love to see more of those! Love your blog!

  39. Abby on June 11, 2012 at 8:08 am

I love reading about your goals and accomplishments, but my favorite part has to be the recipes. I have learned so much from you and have incorporated many things into my life just from reading your blog. It has truly become part of my daily routine. I enjoy seeing your grocery lists. Naples, FL just got a Trader Joes recently, and although it is still in its early stages, it is a TJs nonetheless! Keep up the good work!

It’s my 3rd year reading your blog Gina and I seriously cannot think of any changes to your blog. I love how you write, recipe ideas, fashion posts, workouts and now your mommy page. 🙂 Every time I think of something, you’ve already written about it. Always ahead of me girl. 🙂 Just want to say thanks for a great blog and wish there was a fitnessista app on my iphone! (oh yea, that’s the only thing I can think of that you may need to assess…a fitnessista app!) xx

  41. Heidi on June 11, 2012 at 8:15 am

I love the focus on posts and tips for raising an adorable baby 🙂

  42. Kate on June 11, 2012 at 8:15 am

I love the workouts you post – they’re easy to follow and very effective! I’m always on the the hunt for new vegetarian recipes so it would be great to see more of them on your blog (just made the tempeh tacos two weeks ago and they were fab)! Fantastic giveaway!!!

  43. Willemijn @ Eat Run Travel on June 11, 2012 at 8:20 am

I really love all of your recipe/food postst. I’m a true foodie and I love to see pictures of food and get get inspired by them.
Truly I don’t know what I’d like more to see on your blog, but more workouts are always welcome.
Also, I adore Lic. So I love to keep seeing pictures of her. 🙂

  44. Lauren @ Sassy Molassy on June 11, 2012 at 8:25 am

The things I really enjoy about your blog are: fashion posts, family/balance stuff, fitness/work, circuit work and seeing your eats. Not sure there’s anything you post about that I’d want to see less of.

  45. Leah on June 11, 2012 at 8:25 am

I love your music suggestions! Also love the reviews on the family page, about all the baby products, what works and what doesn’t. Always good to get another mother’s opinion.

  46. Amelia on June 11, 2012 at 8:25 am

Gina, there is so much that I enjoy about your blog (website), however, I’ll try to keep my comment as short and sweet as possible. 🙂 You are a very inspirational and motivational person. One of the major reasons I like reading your blog is because you keep it real. Nothing ever feels fake or sugar coated and I like that. I feel like your blog is a very positive place for health, fitness, recipes, family, and fashion (even if I have ZERO sense of fashion). I have been reading since the fall of 2008 and it’s been great to see the progression of the blog including the ‘shape ups’, recipe creation, focus on posts, family sharing, etc. The posts that you sprinkle in here and there, from the pilot, are pretty cool too. (My husband is jealous of his job…he is civilian side of military but would rather be flying.)

All in all, you have motivated me to do things that I never thought I would be capable of doing. I lifted weights casually in 2008 and now I lift 3x per week, along with HIIT, and cardio classes. I have lost over 25 lbs and am in the best shape of my life! I even made a bold career change and have never been happier. It is NEVER too late to start living your life. 🙂 Thank you.

  47. Michelle on June 11, 2012 at 8:26 am

Love your blog! While I enjoyed it before you had your daughter, I love it more now with little stories and advice from a mom’s perspective! Keep it up girl!

  48. VickyN on June 11, 2012 at 8:28 am

I love how honest and straightforward you are. I love your passion and energy, and how diverse this blog is. I am into fitness and fashion too, and most recently… Adding a little one to our family. I cannot tell you how many times I read your family posts. I wouldnt change or add anything to your blog. Stay true to yourself, you are doing a great job!

  49. Vanessa on June 11, 2012 at 8:30 am

I would love to see some more recipes and fun workouts! I love the summer/winter shape up’s!
