Limbo

Hi guys! Howโ€™s your morning going?? Hope itโ€™s been bueno so far <3

I had every intention of blogging last nightโ€ฆ until our internet went kaput, so I crawled on the couch with puppers and a blanket and crashed out while the Pilot was fixing it. He carried me up to bed around midnight ๐Ÿ™‚

We got into Valdizzy safe and sound yesterday afternoon.

valdizzy

Bella tried to eat the Pilotโ€™s Wendyโ€™s

bella

We hit a bump and scalding tea splashed onto my leg

tea

To which we started saying โ€œTea burned me! That really hurt!โ€

Using this voice:

Yes, we are giant goofers ๐Ÿ™‚

I had to go into work for a training appointment and while I was gone, the Pilot picked up this little queen.

vies

We missed her regal face ๐Ÿ˜€

I made some blondies (with chocolate chips, goatโ€™s milk yogurt, protein and flax)

blondies

and while they were *good*, theyโ€™re not perfect. Iโ€™ll post the recipe when theyโ€™re everything I want them to be, because the ingredients are stellar ๐Ÿ™‚

This morning, after having a protein blondie, I made some bfast cookie dough cereal:

cereal

(topped with raw cacao cereal for crunch and 1/2 banana)

and am about to start on the dayโ€™s to-dos.

-Doctorโ€™s appointments/dogs appointments

-Call moving company

-Get the rest of the boxes

-Finish packing the office

-Workout (TurboFire + weights)

-Two training appointments

It definitely feels like a limbo over here. These next few weeks are going to be a little weird through this transition phase and getting to Orlando- thanks for sticking around with me ๐Ÿ™‚

The good news? I GOT A JOB ๐Ÿ˜€ Iโ€™m not going to post *where* for safety reasons (my job has never been a focus of the blog anyway), but itโ€™s something Iโ€™m really excited about. Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll be able to figure it out eventually ๐Ÿ˜‰

Iโ€™m out!

xoxo,

Gina

Something to talk about: Anyone else going through a transition phase right now? When was the last time you felt like you were in life limbo? For me, it was the time period between getting married to the Pilot and moving to Valdosta. We moved to North Carolina (where he was stationed) for two months, then had to come to Tucson for training (1 month) and then moved to Valdosta the next month. It felt SO good to finally get settled somewhere!

Something to think: โ€œA good workout is like a huge cry for your body. It feels so good when itโ€™s overโ€ โ€“ yesterdayโ€™s yoga class

Right now we are renovating a room in the house. Even though it is not a room we regularly use, the stuff that was in it is EVERYWHERE. This is bad for me and feels like a ‘move’. Your yoga comment hit the nail on the head for me today. I SO needed that run.

Congrats on your job!!!!!!!!!! And good for you for NOT posting it! I was recently reminded and learned lessons (again) about not posting things on the blog that you don’t want the whole world knowing about. Stay safe sweetie, good for you!

Limbo…well, we moved to Phoenix Labor Day weekend last year. Within a month I realized I had made a collassal mistake and missed San Diego terribly. I waited til Jan 1 to put our house on the market, and after 5 months of showing our house all the time, waiting, wondering, not being able to sell it and in a huge state of limbo for those 5 mos we just decided to move to San Diego anyway, even though we hadnt sold our house. So we did. And spent May getting ready to move and moved back here early June. Still in real estate hell with the house, but at least I am LIVING in a place I want and sooo happy. And don’t ever plan on leaving San Diego again!! Even though I am the moving queen and have city-hopped and lived in tons of different places in the city, and also lived in MN, IL, NC, and SC too ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats on the job! I feel like my life is a little bit in a limbo right now. Most of my friends have gone back to their respective colleges but mine hasn’t started yet. I’ll be moving back in about 2 weeks, but the boy I nannied for over the summer is back to school. So right now I’m doing before and after school care with him, while packing, and getting in as much cooking in as possible before I move back to college. It’s not as rough as yours, but its the biggest transition time I’ve had in my life so far.

    Congrats on the job!!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

I would say I was in limbo when we were trying to get pregnant this go around. I couldn’t workout at my normal intensity and have fitness goals because it could hurt our chances at conceiving. Yet month after month the test came back negative. That was HARD! Until we found a positive test on Mother’s Day. Best gift ever. ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats on the new job! That is exciting, can’t wait to learn more about it.
I feel like I have been in transition for SO long that I don’t know life without it. We sold our business 1 year ago and have been traveling (Thailand, Malta, etc.) for half of the time and trying to start another business the other half of the time. The unknown is VERY difficult for me and I have my days when I freak out to my husband, but he always manages to calm me down and we stay on course. I look forward to the day in which I feel “Settled,” though with our entrepreneurial lifestyle, I don’t know if we ever will.
One day at a time and living in the present are helping me through ๐Ÿ™‚

Congrats on the job! It must be so hard for you guys, being in limbo all the time. I give people in the military and their families such credit.

Yes! I’m dealing with my husbands first deployement right now and it feels SO WEIRD not to be able to pick up the phone and just call him ๐Ÿ™ Good luck with your move/transition!

I can honestly say I’m going through the biggest transition of my life as we speak…! It’s quite petrifying, but I’ve also never been more excited for my future.

HUGE congrats on the new job!! I hope I’ll be getting similar news soon, eeek! Oh, and you better post that blondie recipe sooner than later, k? No pressure ๐Ÿ˜‰

  15. Sarah on September 7, 2010 at 3:44 pm

Congrats on the job!! Enjoy it ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait for the blondie recipe!

I’m in a transition period right now as I’m starting my first week (and year!) of college. I’m only just about an hour away from home but it’s the furthest I’ve been without my family. I don’t do to well with big changes to my daily routine, so I need to figure it out here. Luckily my dining hall(s) has(have) awesome vegan options!

Yay!!! I think your new job will be super fun!!

  20. Melissa (MelissaLikesToEat) on September 7, 2010 at 5:19 pm

I’ve been in limbo before and I understand how it stinks. We bought our second home and had to rent until it was ready (for a year)…so a lot of our stuff stayed in boxes all over the the place. And I was pregnant. Ugh.

It will be worth it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  21. Caitlin (EatFeats) on September 7, 2010 at 5:20 pm

Yay congratulations! I’m 22. I graduated from college two years ago. My life has been in an indefinite transitional period since then. Oh my is it hard sometimes, but I’ve yet to find my real passion and I can’t seem to settle for anything less. The upside is that I get to experience so many different things!

  22. Kristin on September 7, 2010 at 6:58 pm

Ugh, talk about transition…my husband is in the AF and has been training for the past 6 months. He left Monterey, CA (in March) where I was living and his last day of training was today. A few weeks ago, I moved from Monterey to Omaha (where we are PCSing to)…I had to find a place for us to live, all without my hubby!! ๐Ÿ™ It’s been so difficult…I can’t wait to see him and for us to get back to normal!!

    So, hang in there!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. Ashley on September 7, 2010 at 7:18 pm

Transitions can be tough! My biggest one took place at the beginning of this year when I:
    *left my full time job
    *started school
*made my part time job, my full(ish) time job
    *broke up with my fiance
    *moved out on my own.

    Talk about change!!

9 months in I can tell you that I’m living the best life I know how. Being in limbo is never easy, but when you’re making changes to benefit your life, everything is always better on the other side. Change is scary, but can be absolutely amazing. Congratulations on the job and having the courage to live the life of your dreams instead of just daydreaming about it!!

  24. Christina on September 7, 2010 at 8:28 pm

Good luck with the move! And the new job ๐Ÿ™‚

My life has been in limbo for about 6 weeks now. It’s been exhausting due to the miserable circumstances but I have decided that enough is enough and I would take control as much as possible, get inspired with my food and fitness again (thank God for your website!) and try and use the limbo period positively.

I’m an army brat so I know the limbo feeling you’re going through! However this time I brought it on myself! I moved out of my home I own, put it up for sale, moved in with my mom and started culinary school! Its one crazy adventure I can’t wait for! Good luck with everything!

    • Fitnessista on September 7, 2010 at 9:38 pm

that is incredible! good luck <3

  26. Jessica @ Jessica Balances on September 7, 2010 at 9:38 pm

I am totally in limbo right now… Just got my first *big girl* job and am commuting an hour to work (and then an hour back) each day – waiting to move into my new apartment that is MUCH closer! Can’t move until Sept. 17th, though… Also, still working my other job on the weekends, but that ends this Saturday and I can’t wait. So, basically just trying to stay patient until I can move and get this party started!

  27. Larinna on September 8, 2010 at 12:01 am

Congrats on the job! I can relate…I am nearing a career transition and not really sure what to expect or how its going to be. Maybe you can give us some lessons learned on whats helping you through this limbo phase… Good luck on your new job! Its soo very exciting! Congrats again!

I can relate. I’m in college, so aside from the standard questions of “what will I do with my life,” I’m also considering when will work best for my boyfriend and me to get married. When did I grow up?

  29. Tracy on September 8, 2010 at 7:44 am

I’m definitely in limbo right now too (career identity!). I think you handle it so well and can totally relate to your feelings. Hang in there, things will get better.

  30. Kristy on September 8, 2010 at 8:19 am

I’m feeling the limbo bug right now too. Patiently waiting for culinary school to start so I can finally begin a real CAREER!

  31. Kate on September 8, 2010 at 8:23 pm

I can understand what you mean about limbo and big changes. We just got married 2 weeks ago and I think my body is still emotional drained! It was wonderful though!! I was wondering if there was any advice that you could give me on increasing my fitness routine. I run 4 days a week and do pilates two days a week but i would like to different things and work alittle bit more on toning. Any suggestions? Is there any good workout dvds as we live in a very small town and there arent any fitness centers within 45 mins of us. Thanks for any help you can give me and I love the posts, I read them everyday!!

    • Fitnessista on September 8, 2010 at 10:02 pm

      congrats on your wedding!!
check out insanity and turbofire for cardio (if you have healthy knees and joints) and winsor pilates
