Patagonia Adventures
Hi friends! How has your day been?
We did something that we haven’t done in quite a while…
went roadtrippin’.
It’s funny because we used to roadtrip ALL the time when we lived in Valdosta –at least once a month- and since we’ve been in Tucson, we’ve kinda stayed put. It was fun to get out for a little adventure, which also happened to be Bella-friendly.
[She was SO happy!]
We hit up the Patagonia Fall Festival, which was about an hour and twenty minutes from Tucson.
The festival had about a football field’s worth of vendors set up, food booths, stages,
and alpacas.
[They both asked me to adopt them, but sadly our HOA won’t allow it]
Since it was around lunchtime, we decided to grab some food. I was amazed by all of the options: Indian fry bread, gyros, tacos, roasted corn, chocolate fondue, ice cream treats, burritos, pizza, burgers, and even a vegetarian stand.
I enjoyed some brown rice and vegetables, while the Pilot feasted on a green chile burger
Then later, while walking around, he got a roasted corn
while I had the kettle variety 😉
We walked around for a couple of hours –people-watching was at its finest- checked out the vendors, and then got on the road back to Tucson.
The goodies we found:
Jalapeno infused local olive oil, pumpkin chocolate chip bread, tortilla warmer, goat’s milk soap
We’re back at the casa now and I’m going to figure out dinner + this week’s meals. I haven’t been as great about meal planning as I usually am, so this week I’ll get the ball rolling again.
Have a great night and I’ll be back later with a family post!
xoxo
Gina
Something to talk about: When is the last time you took a roadtrip? Where’d you go?
Something to do: Schweaty October Workout! If you try it, please let me know what you think <3
the festival looks like so much fun! Unfortunately, our HOA doesn’t allow alpacas either 🙁
The fall festival looks like it was a blast – especially with all those food options. Kettle corn is a favorite of mine – the sweet and salty combo makes me so happy!
We took a road trip yesterday to Norfolk, VA to visit Isaac’s family and break-fast for Yom Kippur. 🙂
I LOVE markets and have been missing them since I’m on end-of-semester study lockdown. :-/ Naturally this includes regular blog cruising breaks where I can live vicariously through other people’s market adventures. The last road trip we took, we got lost somewhere way down South of the South Island. We took the wrong road out of Queenstown and didn’t figure that out for three hours. Funnily enough, there are only TWO roads to choose from ….
Pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Holy YUM! You’re the devil 😉
I don’t think you two road trip as much because you live in civilization!!!
The boyfriend and I drove to Amherst, MA back in February on I’d say the coldest/windiest day of the year. Even with the weather it was PARADISE. Such an awesome sorta hippy college town with great coffee shops, yoga studios and a little African inspired scarf/jewlery store. STRONGLY recommend it! 🙂
I just took a mini road trip this weekend – from Orlando to Jacksonville and back to Orlando again…oh the joys of a long distance relationship – ha!
My mom was totally a vendor at that festival!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, she totally has alpacas, but she wouldn’t have brought hers to the show. Anyway, my jaw just dropped when I realized you were in the same place as my mom. Small world!
Goat’s milk soap is the 100% best soap I’ve ever tried. I visited a goat farm in Maui and brought a bunch of soap home. I was so sad when I ran out of it!
Also, that’s a super cute picture of Bella. I also love day trips I can take the pupper with me to.
we never road trip… looks like so much fun, though!! will have to plan a fun getaway 🙂
love the tortilla warmer! a road trip sounds like fun, i definitely need to explore georgia when i have more time.
It looks like an awesome little trip! It is so neat to go out and see all the local people doing what they do, isn’t it? I wish I had a tortilla warmer! Glad to see Bella looking so happy too!
Looks like so much fun! Great photo of Bella today… I love those furry little paws!
I love festivals like that! So much fun to walk around and check out all the cool vendors!
Bella is such a ham! What an adorable photo, her huge smile says it all.
Looks like a neat festival.
Festivals are so much fun! I’m waiting for the Renaissance Festival to come here =D
that’s not until spring though, right?? love going- i can’t wait to take the pilot
OH MY GOSH, Bella’s photo!! What a silly goose 🙂
she’s smiling so big! haha
The food all sounds so good! My hubs is deployed, so our last roadtrip was a long time ago! We drove 6 hours to our alma mater, Texas Tech.*
How fun! We haven’t road tripped in a while and I have been wanting to do one…all the food looks great and I love Bellas fur blowing in the wind back there
I use goats milk soap and lotion and diaper cream on Ella. It smells amazing for one and 2 her skin is amazing and she’s never had a diaper rash!
I just finished a post right before I read this with the title “Road Trippin’ with the ‘Rents”!! Apperently, it was a roadtripping kind of weekend! 😀
*apparently
Looks like a fun day! What kind of car cover is Bella sitting on?
it’s a hammock that covers the entire backseat from petsmart. i love that thing- when it gets dirty, i just throw it in the washer
I love the tortilla warmer thingey. That’s pretty cool!
And you holding the kettle corn, what a cute pic.
Looks like a great day and glad you guys had fun 🙂
I’ve done the October work out three times this week and my butt is SORE! Thank you! I am trying to bring my husband along to do it tomorrow 🙂 So glad you posted it! Btw, do you suggest doing it on alternate days or is consecutive days okay? If alternate, what do you suggest for the days in between?
make sure you stretch! i’d do it every other day and alternate with steady state cardio or yoga/active recovery
Thank you! 🙂
I haven’t been on a roadtrip in a REALLY long time, but my boyfriend and I have been tossing around the idea of hitting up Philly for a weekend (I only live about an hour and a half away). It’s so fun just to get out every once in a while!
Sounds so fun! Our last road trip was to the beach for a relaxing weekend!
Will you share your planned meals for the week please? Its something I’ve been struggling with since grad school started and I literally don’t have the time to go to the store every other day. Thanks, you’re the best!
That looks like a great festival! Especially that pumpkin chocolate chip bread. 😀
We drove out to my grandparents’ house yesterday for our Thanksgiving dinner!
Jalepeno infused oil sounds yum. I love taking fresh hot peppers from my dad’s garden and letting them infuse into oil. I love Bella’s tag too.
I love that tortilla holder. love it. need it.
Went on a girls trip this past weekend to Amelia Island and Jax Town Center. I may or may not have bought a new Coach bag.
ahhh text me a pic! glad you had a fun girls weekend 🙂
I LOVE indian fry bread. Now I’m drooling just thinking about it…
OMG! I love that tortilla warmer! Which vendor did you buy it from? I would love to know 🙂 I love Dias de los Muertos art. You can check out some of my paintings here: http://soniakop.blogspot.com/p/dios-de-los-muertos.html.
I don’t know if you have done a post on it before, but can you do a post on protein powder? I am a newbie and I think I want to start incorporating it into my smoothies/oatmeal etc. but I don’t know which kind and why I should incorporate it.
