Upper body circuit workout

Hi friends! Howโ€™s the day going? Thank you so much for chiming in with your productivity tips this morning.

Speaking of productivity, mine has been LOW todayโ€ฆ because itโ€™s 1:30pm and P is taking her first nap. Her energy is admirable, and itโ€™s hard to be like, โ€œWhy arenโ€™t you napping?!โ€ when sheโ€™s smiling and cracking up the entire time. I tried to rock her and sing her a lullaby, and it resulted with her entire hand in my mouth while she belly laughed. Successful.

Speaking of energy/stamina:

You guys. Iโ€™ll stop mentioning this eventually, but Iโ€™m having to WORK to get back my cardio endurance. Teaching spin killed me last night. I had to get off my bike twice to walk around for a second, just to catch my breath. It also didnโ€™t help that the entire class was packed, so I was feeling really pumped, but my body couldn’t keep up with me. Iโ€™m listening to what itโ€™s telling me, and easing into everything. As tempted as I am to go crazypants, I donโ€™t want to regret it later.

I was pacing around the kitchen last night, telling the Pilot about my realization that spin is really hard, and he reminded me of the great fitness legend:

โ€œWhen your baby bangs grow out, you will be strong again.”

We still have a ways to go there. Haha.

(Please to ignore my eyebrows. K thanks.)

Hereโ€™s an upper body workout I did recently! I combined some of my favorite moves into a circuit, and it was a serious burner. The best part: it only took about 20 minutes.

UPPER BODY CIRCUIT WORKOUT

In dinner news, weโ€™ve had some amazing dinners so far this week, including this Paleo recipe. (<โ€” her photos are beautiful. Mine are subpar, but I was also giving P bites of dinner while listening to Liv regale me on the horrors of Brussels sprouts.)

Paleo skillet

I followed the recipe pretty much exactly, and combined turkey bacon, onion, brussels sprouts, baked sweet potato cutes, garlic, apple, chicken, thyme, and a little cinnamon. I loved all of the harvest flavors, even in the beginning of June, and couldnโ€™t help but think how wonderful it would taste with some fresh sage. It has made a produce and protein-packed lunch option since itโ€™s so easy to reheat leftovers and eat.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. See ya in the morning with a fitness find!
xoxo

Todayโ€™s workout jam: I played this for a hill climb last night, and LOVED the lyrics, the drum beats and the steady tempo. Itโ€™s one of my newest favorite workout songs:

I feel ya on the stamina! After having hip surgery in February, and then military life interrupting for the month of May, I’ve had a really hard time getting back into teaching dance. The good part is, now I know how my students feel when we do a combination with a lot of jumps! I just tell myself that each week will feel better than the last.

HAHA until your baby bangs grow up!!! What if you don’t have bangs? Cardio comes back for me in a flash so I’m sure it won’t be long before you have your groove thang back girl.

I know exactly how you feel. Although our surgeries were quite different, after having a large tumor removed and other organs that went with it back in Jan 2016, I was told it would take a full year to get back to working out at the level I was at. This is very frustrating since our summers here in the midwest only last about 12-14 weeks at best and I want to do everything possible before the snow flies again.
Though, I feel better than I have for years so I am easing my way back at the gym and enjoying what I can outside for the time being.
If only doctors could prescribe stamina we would have it good:)
    Best of luck to you.

Well everyone is different…..sooo with that said…After my oldest was born it took me a couple months. After baby # 2 it took me 4-5 months.
After my last one… it took me 5 months to REALLY get my groove back.
Don’t worry, before you know it you will be ROCKING like 4 classes a day ๐Ÿ˜€

you have the greatest workouts! (I think we’re somewhat twins when it comes to fitness) I think half my “workout folder” is stuff from your blog!

Dude, I hear you on the stamina thing. It’s killing me too. What a difference 6 months makes, amirite? Baby steps I guess? That’s what I’m telling myself at least. Someday it’ll be easier.

Did this workout today and I really liked it. I did mountain climbers instead of the battle ropes since I was working out at home. Would you suggest any other exercises to replace the battle rope slams?
