Staycation
Hi friends! How’s your night going?
We’re on a little staycation 😀
Back in May, I grabbed up a LivingSocial deal for a one-night resort getaway –thought it would be something fun for the Pilot and I to do- and we discovered that it expired on Monday.
Couldn’t let it go to waste, so we decided a little night of R&R was in order 🙂
It actually worked out well because our new bed frame arrived today, but our mattress doesn’t get here until Monday.
Our hotel room for tonight is pretty much amazing.
[So is the Pilot. Hubba hubba]

Per usual, we had to check out the room service menu.
I love when hotels have a special section for pets:

Time to dig into some shrimp salad and then hit the pool.

Hey Lady! It looks like you have got it made in that place! Very very nice. I really want to do a staycation, but we are always so busy!! We live in Vancouver, which is so beautiful, with so many things to see and places to go, a staycation is for sure high on our list of things we want to do!

Sometimes I think Staycations are even better than Vacations! You already know where everything is, so no getting lost. If you forget something you can run home and grab it. AND you don’t have to deal with the stress of travel…no hurrying to connecting flights or 3 oz ziploc bag rules!
And yay for new mattresses!!! 🙂

Oh this is WONDERFUL for you guys! 1 nite away, not too much packing or thought needs to go into it, you can just chill locally and not spend much money…and in 6 mos from now when you are up to your elbows in diaper changing and not sleeping too much, you will have this GREAT memory to look back on. Truly wish I would have done more of this type of thing when I was pregnant.

I’ve never done a Staycation, but my BF and I have talked about it. I always feel like if I’m going to spend money at a hotel, I want to be somewhere new—but this looks awesome!
We actually have a few staycations planned for this fall — and we’ve taken a few in the past. Groupon deals are the best for that sort of thing!
That room looks awesome, although is that a flip up style bed? I hope it doesn’t feel like a pull out couch mattress.

hahah yeah! they had us in a room that was soooo far away from everything else, so i called and they updated us to this room. the manager was like “i hope you don’t mind the bed”, but it was super comfy. i’m excited to sleep on our new one, though!
Looks like a great getaway and perfect timing for you! We had a mini-staycation when Hurricane Irene hit the East Coast. We couldn’t go anywhere and had to cancel all of our plans, so we ended up with a great, relaxing staycation (and fortunately, there wasn’t any damage in our area!).
A staycation sounds amazing!!

That looks so relaxing! We’ve never done a staycation, but were thinking about doing one this winter by heading to one of the local ski resorts.
