Friday Faves

Hi friends! Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend? I’m sorry for disappearing a bit this week. My heart has been heavy and I’ve spent much of the week feeling helpless. My friend Juli posted an informative post about what you can do to help with the Australian wildfires here. I’m heartbroken over the devastating fires and events happening in the world, but am using this post to share a little bit of positivity if you’re feeling the same way. <3

We this week celebrating Livi bear, who turned 8 on Wednesday!

I can’t believe she’s already 8. How did this even happen?!

I feel like I always say this, but every year is my favorite. As the girls get older, they just get more and more fun. Their personalities shine through and I learn so much about them every day. I feel like we’re in a sweet spot right now. We can go anywhere – they’re better at flying than I am lol – and it doesn’t feel like I’m packing up a ton of stuff. We’ve traveled quite a bit, just the 3 of us, over the past couple of years, and it’s been pretty amazing.

Livi also started a new school this week. We had some unfortunate incidents at her previous school and in my heart, I knew we needed to find a better fit. We started touring options last semester and found an incredible spot for her. She wanted to start that day! I was worried about the mid-year change, but the kids at this school are so sweet and kind. She already has a group of friends who swooped in to show her the ropes and I’m so thankful for the sweet kids and wonderful teachers for making the transition so seamless. When I pick her up, she talks a mile a minute about her day, which is a huge sign that we made the right choice. (At her last school, I’d pick her up and she’d answer my questions with one word. She had never done this before so it was a bit of a red flag for me, among other things.)

I’m so proud of this girl and so lucky to be her mama. She keeps me on my toes, is the kindest sister to P, and I love being able to watch her grow.

We had a family party on Wednesday night with pizza and cupcakes, and this weekend is her bday party. We’re celebrating all week, which is how b-days should be. 🙂

And now it’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party! Here are some of my fave finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section!

Happy birthday! I can’t believe I’ve been following since before she was born! I was so sad and overwhelmed with the fires that I made an art print that donates 100% of the profit to Australian aid organizations so I can make a tiny bit of help <3

Happy bday to Livi. I just realized I started following you right after she was born; she was like a week old. My daughter was turning 8. Now Livi is 8 and my daughter is turning 16! Ahh! Love the yearly pics of the 2 of you.

Beautiful photos! I really should drink more green tea. I always say to myself, the next tea I make will be green tea, but it always ends up being regular English tea!
