Friday Faves (+ a giveaway)

Hi! TGIF. Hope youโ€™ve had a wonderful week and have some fun plans to look forward to this weekend! We have a couple of fun things in the works, and Iโ€™m so excited to see Gone Girl this weekend. I know it probably wonโ€™t live up to the book, butโ€ฆ Ben Affleck.

Some faves from the week and around the web:

Fall centerpieces! Even though it was 90 degrees while I put this one together, it felt so right. I got everything at Home Goods; love the leaves, and love that it isnโ€™t too Halloween-y and can stick around until Thanksgiving.

We have figs in the yard! I was a little apprehensive about eating them -it all comes back to childhood trauma from when I ate mushrooms growing outside. It was not a good experience for anyone- but they are delicious.

What weightlifting for 20 minutes does for your brain.

An amazing feature from Cosmopolitan. Thank you so much for including me <3

All about that upright bass. SO GOOD.

Easy reminders to get in your workout.

Count me healthy bracelets. I was so excited when Chelsea Charles reached out to me about these awesome bracelets. I mean, my permanent marker on the water bottle trick worked to count my water intake, but this is a little more fun. ๐Ÿ˜‰

These gorgeous bracelets can be used to count anything youโ€™d like to track. Some ideas: water intake, weekly workouts, nursing or pumping sessions for mamas, words of kindness, or positive thoughts. They can also be a helpful technique for those who are looking to break habits, such as cigarette smoking (by counting how many days youโ€™ve gone without), or reducing artificial sweeteners. All you do is slide is the little beads from side to side.

Wearing it throughout the day is also a beautiful visual reminder of your goals. I love how well-constructed the bracelets are; while dainty, theyโ€™re extremely durable.

Chelsea Charles kindly sent me two bracelets: one for me, and one for one of you. The rose gold Tri-color bracelet I have to give away is valued at $105, and since itโ€™s in my possession, you never know what will make itโ€™s way into the winnerโ€™s goodie mail. (Iโ€™ve been known to put in fun beauty products, homemade cookies, snacks and treats.)

I love your fall decorations! I just put some up myself, but I am inspired to bring some beautiful fall leaves into my centerpiece. The bracelet is really gorgeous. I have a tough time remembering to drink water, so I would use it to track my water intake.

  2. Amy on October 10, 2014 at 8:21 am

Love the idea of that bracelet. I would try to count how many times I did positive self-talk. Its hard to complement yourself and easy to get down on yourself. Positive self-talk is something I have been trying to work on. ๐Ÿ™‚

  22. aeb on October 10, 2014 at 8:37 am

I drink a lot of water, but I think counting would do me a big favor. Would definitely use this!

  23. Megan on October 10, 2014 at 8:39 am

I LOVE that bracelet idea. I’ve seen it all: permanent marker marks on your bottle, rubber bands, level measures, etc. I love that this counts as two things: 1) a counter and 2) a piece of jewelry. And as the jewelry obsessed, this is definitely an item I’d use on a daily basis.

My boyfriend and I have committed to getting back to healthy, and although I drink A LOT of water each day, I don’t set a goal for myself. I’m just always thirsty. I’d LOVE to add this bracelet to my collection and help motivate other people to do the same when they ask, “Love that bracelet! Where’d you get that?”

I LOVE that bracelet! What a great idea! I had a string bracelet made a few months ago with my 2 wedding colors (gray and robin’s egg blue) and orange (for my OTF workouts). Besides my engagement ring and a pair of earrings, it’s the only jewelry I wear. It helps keep me focused on my goals and I’ll feel it or catch sight of it during a workout and repeat one of my mantras in my head ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s helped keep me from reaching for donuts at work, too!

I’d use this bracelet to probably track my water intake! It’s beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚
