Friday Faves (+ a giveaway)
Hi! TGIF. Hope youโve had a wonderful week and have some fun plans to look forward to this weekend! We have a couple of fun things in the works, and Iโm so excited to see Gone Girl this weekend. I know it probably wonโt live up to the book, butโฆ Ben Affleck.
Some faves from the week and around the web:
Fall centerpieces! Even though it was 90 degrees while I put this one together, it felt so right. I got everything at Home Goods; love the leaves, and love that it isnโt too Halloween-y and can stick around until Thanksgiving.
This sign at an Ocean Beach flower shop. Pretty clever marketing ๐
We have figs in the yard! I was a little apprehensive about eating them -it all comes back to childhood trauma from when I ate mushrooms growing outside. It was not a good experience for anyone- but they are delicious.
La Jolla adventures with my favorites.
Quotes from the wisdom wall:
How to determine blood test results. So helpful!!
What weightlifting for 20 minutes does for your brain.
An amazing feature from Cosmopolitan. Thank you so much for including me <3
All about that upright bass. SO GOOD.
Easy reminders to get in your workout.
Count me healthy bracelets. I was so excited when Chelsea Charles reached out to me about these awesome bracelets. I mean, my permanent marker on the water bottle trick worked to count my water intake, but this is a little more fun. ๐
These gorgeous bracelets can be used to count anything youโd like to track. Some ideas: water intake, weekly workouts, nursing or pumping sessions for mamas, words of kindness, or positive thoughts. They can also be a helpful technique for those who are looking to break habits, such as cigarette smoking (by counting how many days youโve gone without), or reducing artificial sweeteners. All you do is slide is the little beads from side to side.
Wearing it throughout the day is also a beautiful visual reminder of your goals. I love how well-constructed the bracelets are; while dainty, theyโre extremely durable.
Chelsea Charles kindly sent me two bracelets: one for me, and one for one of you. The rose gold Tri-color bracelet I have to give away is valued at $105, and since itโs in my possession, you never know what will make itโs way into the winnerโs goodie mail. (Iโve been known to put in fun beauty products, homemade cookies, snacks and treats.)
If youโd like to enter, just leave a comment with something youโre loving today, or something youโd count via your new bracelet ๐
Happy Friday!
xoxo
Gina
I love your fall decorations! I just put some up myself, but I am inspired to bring some beautiful fall leaves into my centerpiece. The bracelet is really gorgeous. I have a tough time remembering to drink water, so I would use it to track my water intake.
Love the idea of that bracelet. I would try to count how many times I did positive self-talk. Its hard to complement yourself and easy to get down on yourself. Positive self-talk is something I have been trying to work on. ๐
I’m loving your fall centrepiece and that my aunt is coming to visit from very far away and it will be great to catch up with her. Great idea for the bracelet and it is gorgeous!!! Hope I win ๐
Today I am loving the fact that I only have one more week until I get married!!!!!

I am definitely trying to make an effort to think more positively, to breathe, and let stress melt away. This gentle reminder could work wonders!
I’m loving that we’re headed into a long weekend! I’d use the beads to count intervals on my next speed run. Worst feeling ever when you can’t remember if you’ve done 7 or 8…or maybe 9?
We just replaced our old and broken furnace with a brand new and more efficient one. This morning I’m loving our warm house. ๐
I’m loving the fall weather here. It’s perfect for getting me to start running again!
wow wow wow what an amazing bracelet ๐ i would love one too ๐ i love that sign! it made me laugh and i would also love to come visit you and eat figs with you!!!! ๐ i included you in today’s post on my blog because I love how you tackled the IIFYM post!!! xo
Being able to drive my kiddo’s to school today, love seeing their smiling faces. I would track positive thoughts with that gorgeous bracelet.
I drink a lot of water, but I think counting would do me a big favor. Would definitely use this!
I LOVE that bracelet idea. I’ve seen it all: permanent marker marks on your bottle, rubber bands, level measures, etc. I love that this counts as two things: 1) a counter and 2) a piece of jewelry. And as the jewelry obsessed, this is definitely an item I’d use on a daily basis.
My boyfriend and I have committed to getting back to healthy, and although I drink A LOT of water each day, I don’t set a goal for myself. I’m just always thirsty. I’d LOVE to add this bracelet to my collection and help motivate other people to do the same when they ask, “Love that bracelet! Where’d you get that?”

I would use the bracelet to track my water intake!
I LOVE that bracelet! What a great idea! I had a string bracelet made a few months ago with my 2 wedding colors (gray and robin’s egg blue) and orange (for my OTF workouts). Besides my engagement ring and a pair of earrings, it’s the only jewelry I wear. It helps keep me focused on my goals and I’ll feel it or catch sight of it during a workout and repeat one of my mantras in my head ๐ It’s helped keep me from reaching for donuts at work, too!
