Friday Faves (+ a giveaway)
Hi! TGIF. Hope youโve had a wonderful week and have some fun plans to look forward to this weekend! We have a couple of fun things in the works, and Iโm so excited to see Gone Girl this weekend. I know it probably wonโt live up to the book, butโฆ Ben Affleck.
Some faves from the week and around the web:
Fall centerpieces! Even though it was 90 degrees while I put this one together, it felt so right. I got everything at Home Goods; love the leaves, and love that it isnโt too Halloween-y and can stick around until Thanksgiving.
This sign at an Ocean Beach flower shop. Pretty clever marketing ๐
We have figs in the yard! I was a little apprehensive about eating them -it all comes back to childhood trauma from when I ate mushrooms growing outside. It was not a good experience for anyone- but they are delicious.
La Jolla adventures with my favorites.
Quotes from the wisdom wall:
How to determine blood test results. So helpful!!
What weightlifting for 20 minutes does for your brain.
An amazing feature from Cosmopolitan. Thank you so much for including me <3
All about that upright bass. SO GOOD.
Easy reminders to get in your workout.
Count me healthy bracelets. I was so excited when Chelsea Charles reached out to me about these awesome bracelets. I mean, my permanent marker on the water bottle trick worked to count my water intake, but this is a little more fun. ๐
These gorgeous bracelets can be used to count anything youโd like to track. Some ideas: water intake, weekly workouts, nursing or pumping sessions for mamas, words of kindness, or positive thoughts. They can also be a helpful technique for those who are looking to break habits, such as cigarette smoking (by counting how many days youโve gone without), or reducing artificial sweeteners. All you do is slide is the little beads from side to side.
Wearing it throughout the day is also a beautiful visual reminder of your goals. I love how well-constructed the bracelets are; while dainty, theyโre extremely durable.
Chelsea Charles kindly sent me two bracelets: one for me, and one for one of you. The rose gold Tri-color bracelet I have to give away is valued at $105, and since itโs in my possession, you never know what will make itโs way into the winnerโs goodie mail. (Iโve been known to put in fun beauty products, homemade cookies, snacks and treats.)
If youโd like to enter, just leave a comment with something youโre loving today, or something youโd count via your new bracelet ๐
Happy Friday!
xoxo
Gina
I’m definitely one of those people who always thinks the book is better than the movie but I was really impressed by “Gone Girl.”
That bracelet is beautiful!
I m loving the space that I am in – by which I mean that today, all of the arduous mountains I’m trying to move in my world seem to be truly blessings that I get to do, or get to achieve. Bonus that is a glorious October day, and I’ve seen my first taste of fall color.
I am loving the start of fall weather and comfy sweaters ๐ I would love to count my water intake!!
Im loving that it is friday and I can go home soon! Its been a tough week so im looking forward to just getting home and releasing some of this stress!
I’m loving the fact that my elementary school that I work at is having our first ever Color Run as a fundraiser! The kids are so pumped!
I am loving morning snuggles with my curly labradoodle puppy ๐
I am loving fall weather! I would use it to track my water consumption.
It’s a three day weekend in Canada this weekend, plus I’m just *this* much closer to it. That’s what I’m loving <3
I’m doing the Whole 30 so I’d use it to track the day I’m on.
I’m loving all the fun activities planned for this weekend. Corn maze, wedding dress shopping with my best friend, pedicures and wine time with friends!
LOVED that I was able to take my crappy day at work out on the weights at CrossFit yesterday.
That Count Me Bracelet is such a great idea, and bonus… it’s super cute! LOVE the fall centerpieces. Hope you enjoy the weekend, Gina! xo
Loving that it’s Friday!
I’m loving that my little one, also a Liv, is potty training today. Wish us luck!
I’d definitely count water intake! I’m so bad about it!
Also, loving that it’s so close to fall ๐ I can almost taste the cold weather coming our way.
thing i’m loving? planning for the holidays. I don’t like Christmas creep, but as a handmade gift maker, planning is required and I’m actually kind of in love with it right now
What a beautiful bracelet. I would use that to count glasses of water I need to drink a day. After having kids, I’ve really let that slide.
I’d count hugs from my toddler! My favorite thing in the entire world.
I am loving crock pot weather! Soups and roasts and stew, OH MY!
Right now I’m loving that I successfully packed lunch every day this week and did a fabulous job making budget-friendly meals. My biggest expense is definitely on groceries every week since I love cooking. It’s tough when you want to eat a healthy, varied, diet, but I learned this week that canned tuna is underrated and I should make more simple things to keep me going during the week.
I’m loving the fact that it’s Friday! The bracelet is such a clever idea, I love that you are the only person who knows what you are trying to track, everyone else just thinks its a pretty piece of jewelry.
I am loving that it is Friday!
I’m loving that it’s Friday and we have a 3 day weekend because of Columbus Day on Monday!
Not planning to see Gone Girl but do love the Affleck.
I would use the bracelet to count days and as a visual remind as you said. I’m planning to start a pre-holiday high raw detox. nothing crazy, just fruits and raw veg until dinner, then some cooked some raw for my evening meal. Plus mim PB cup from TJ’s b/c those are a nutritional staple ๐
I would count my workouts!
That bracelet is beautiful and such a great idea! I would love to get one for my mom because I am always urging her to drink more water and this would be a great visual reminder. The fitbit has really motivated her to get more steps in during the day so I hope this will do the same!
And I love baked goodies!
I love that my children are growing up to be gentlemen. Parenting is not easy, the little things like them holding a door, complimenting another person or being conscious of world events and their impact makes my heart soar.
Love the bracelet and love the blog (and it’s evolution over the years) .
oh my gosh I love the idea of these bracelets! I’m a few weeks from delivering my 3rd baby and I’d love to use it for water, breastfeeding & workouts! I’d get so much use out of this bracelet. What a genius idea:)
I’m loving the changing leaves in the mountains that comes with fall. Love the bracelet!
I’m loving that it is Friday! This has been my first full week back at work since having a baby and I can’t wait to spend all weekend snuggling with her!
What a cute bracelet and idea behind it! Today I am loving the crisp cool weather outside!
I am loving fall boots. It is the ONLY thing I embrace about the changing seasons.
I would track water intake with it, I (literally) almost never drink water, so something like this would help I think.
What I’m loving today is that bracelet! I would absolutely definitely count water intake. I was just about to order the water bottle that keeps track for you, but I MUCH prefer this as a chic alternative ๐
I love this bracelet idea, and it’s beautiful too. ๐ I am loving the rain this morning. I’m one of those weirdos that enjoys the rainy days.
I’m loving my family being here so we can go to Hawaii tomorrow!!!
I’m loving the Beautiful Fall Colors. Love the idea behind this bracelet. I would love to use it to count positive thoughts. Sometimes it’s hard to think something positive when life can get crazy busy.
That bracelet is such a clever idea, and it’s beautiful too!!! It would be super useful to use to my water intake. But thinking outside the box here… I would try to use it to count/reflect on happy moments each day. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the negative and stressful moments of the day… It would be a refreshing change of pace to have a reminder to look at the positive.
And something I’m loving today (which would also count as a positive moment): I totally killed an eeeearly morning 8mile run. San Francisco Nike Half Marathon in 9 days and SO excited!!!
I’d count water intake. I always need to be better about hydration. I cannot wait to see Gone Girl too!!
Those bracelets are gorgeous! I’m having trouble keeping up with my water intake – I do well in the morning, but throughout the afternoon and evening I slow down. I think this bracelet would be a helpful reminder to keep me on track!
Planning on seeing Gone Girl this weekend as well! Love the bracelet, could definitely use it to count my water intake.
I am loving it is Friday and I am planning on taking my 3 kids to the movie “Girl Rising” which is about the power of educating girls then to the Richmond Folk Festival. A fun day planned after a chaotic week. I am going to use the bracelet to help my 5 year old daughter learn the alphabet. She is struggling with it so for every letter she masters we can move a bead over. We can reverse direction after we master the first 12 ๐
I LOVE your centerpiece ๐ So pretty!! And those bracelets are so pretty too! I am loving fall flavors right now…I actually ran out of my pumpkin pie spice which was practically a kitchen emergency. Good thing I’m going grocery shopping soon!!
I am loving this amazing fall weather that accompanied me throughout my long run today! I loved seeing the leaves change colors, the jack-o-lanterns and other Halloween decorations around the neighborhood and the slight drizzle that caught up with me as I finished out my run. YAY for fall!
Today I’m loving that I have fun plans for the weekend with my favorite people and I’m loving that my brother made it safely to South Korea (he’s stationed there for the Army)!
I would use the bracelet to track and motivate me for workout days!
I would count days or weeks binge and purge free. It would be a great motivational tool and a reminder of how far I’ve come as the number goes up ๐
TGIF!
Something I’m loving today: My husband is hunting for a week and I’m looking forward to a GIRLS NIGHT with my two minions: homemade pizza pockets (7 year old requested artichoke hearts, 4 year old requested salami), movie selection and staying up later than normal!
Loving that it is Friday – it has been a long week! Also loving the bracelet!!
Gone Girl was JUST like the book! I always like to read the books before the movie because they are always better. However, I think I would have enjoyed the movie Gone Girl more if I hadn’t read the book! With all the twists, it made the movie so thrilling! I hope you enjoy it!
im loving the weather where i live! still warm enough to be outside but with a breeze
I’m loving that I passed the bar exam yesterday!
