pilot (3)

This morning, I crawled out of bed and walked to the yoga studio for a 90-minute Power Yoga class.

It wasโ€ฆ

shirt

For realz.

It was everything I ever needed.

The instructors at MBody Yoga have given very appropriate yoga pep talks in the past two days.

Yesterdayโ€™s message was to forget about yesterday and not worry about the future so much. She said โ€œall you have is RIGHT NOW.โ€ Simple enough, but I needed to hear it from someone else, especially with everything coming up.

Todayโ€™s yoga speech was about challenging yourself in everything you do. You could approach it like โ€œwhatever, Iโ€™ve done this beforeโ€ or you can find something NEW by challenging yourself and working harder in the otherwise ordinary moments. You have to work hard for what you wantโ€ฆ if you just sit back wishing, it will never happen.

I walked out of the studio as a yoga noodle and met the pilot for brunch.

Same wrap as yesterday + hummus.

The girl decided to press it with the panini press.

wrap

I wanted to kiss her ๐Ÿ™‚

It was GLORIOUS.

Veggies, goat cheese, hummus and kalamata olives on a whole wheat wrap.

Warm and meltyโ€ฆ

wrap (2)

No words, only foodgasms ๐Ÿ™‚ Would this be considered a crack wrap??

(The pilot had crab cake hollandaise and bacon from a dinerโ€”I was tacky and brought my food with me so we could dine on the patio together)

On the way home, we stopped at Fresh Market and Whole Paycheck.

Shared these veggies chips:

chips

I just picked up Bella from funny quotes ladyโ€™s house (a client), grabbed groceries from Wizzle, along with THIS:

book

A little late to get on the bandwagon, but Iโ€™m excited ๐Ÿ™‚ Have you read these books???

Off to Longhorn for salmon salad and then movie time- Inception.

See ya in the morning!

xoxo,

Gina

Just finished reading all 3 books in the space of 5 days. AMAZING! You will love them!

  2. Beth on July 18, 2010 at 6:59 pm

I just started them this summer…the first one is a little slow to start. I actually put it down and wasn’t going to continue, but a trusted friend said, “keep on it….it gets MUCH better!”. She was right. I’ve read the first 2 and am on the list at the library for the 3rd, but I might have to download it so I can just read it! Enjoy!!!

  6. Bridget on July 18, 2010 at 7:11 pm

I am hoping to start The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo also! I’ve been wanting to join a bookclub but don’t really have the time. I work full time (over night) and am trying to get in to nursing school. Do you know of any online bookclubs? I’ve looked a *little* bit but have not found anything. Let us know what you think of it!

    • Fitnessista on July 18, 2010 at 11:34 pm

i don’t know of any, but do know that jenna from eatliverun does book clubs sometime. she did the help a little while ago ๐Ÿ™‚

Inception was sooooo good!!!! I’m also looking forward to starting that book here soon. Gotta finish The Help and a few others first.

I just finished the first book and I’m on the second one now. The first was really disturbing, don’t read it alone at night like I did!

    • Fitnessista on July 18, 2010 at 11:33 pm

      gah! good to know!

  13. Nicole on July 18, 2010 at 7:48 pm

I saw Inception yesterday. Also, how many calories do you estimate you burn during your 90 minute yoga class today? I’m just curious.

    • Fitnessista on July 18, 2010 at 11:32 pm

i have no idea but i’ve read online that you can burn anywhere from 300-900 depending on your level and how difficult the class is. for today, i’d estimate 500-600

  14. Julie @pickley pear on July 18, 2010 at 7:50 pm

I really want to see Inception! 90 minute yoga class would be awesome, glad you enjoyed it!

  15. Cindy on July 18, 2010 at 7:58 pm

I just bought that book today! I can’t wait to read it.

  16. Lauren on July 18, 2010 at 7:59 pm

    That wrap looks miraculous.

I skipped a step and just saw the movie before reading the book (whoops..) – you should definitely check it out once you’re done with the book. Amazing movie!!

  17. Bianca @ Confessions of a Chocoholic on July 18, 2010 at 8:02 pm

OMG I love that book!!! Be careful though, you might get sucked in like me and end up reading the book till 2:30 am because it is so hard to put down :p I just started reading the third book – it’s starting off slow like the first 2 books (the first part of Dragon Tattoo is pretty boring but it picks up after a few chapters!) and I can’t wait to finish reading it too.

  18. Anya @ Fitness & Sunshine on July 18, 2010 at 8:17 pm

    The wrap looks amaaaazing.

Thank you so much for inspiration–focusing on the present, and challenging myself. Definitely two things that almost anyone can do to make things better and ease their minds. ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. shelly@caminggirlchronicals on July 18, 2010 at 8:17 pm

I just started reading the 2nd book… I wouldn’t normally read such books but I am loving them.

  20. Pure2raw twins on July 18, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Sounds like a great yoga lesson. Love it. I need to get better at challenging myself, I just have to much fear and worry that hold me back.

I would say that is a “crack wrap” : )

  21. Jill@MySoCalledHealthLife on July 18, 2010 at 8:19 pm

My bf just finished the 2 book series and said they are a great read!

Also, what an amazing message at yoga. I am in the midst of a job search that can be really overwhelming, and I think I need to embrace that message too. Thanks for sharing.

  22. Ilana on July 18, 2010 at 8:38 pm

that wrap looks fantasticaaalll. also i love going to yoga – somehow the instructor almost always knows what to say, at least for me, and hits me in the right places. last time, my favorite instructor commented on how, when you practice yoga, you deliberately place yourself into positions that are difficult or otherwise abnormal or uncomfortable, and learn to fit into them, so that when we are in uncomfortable or difficult situations in real life we are better equipped to deal with them because we’ve already worked through difficulty and discomfort. i carry that with me all the time now.
i have nott read those books but everyone and their mom is all up in them so i guess i should check them out?? Inception, though, was fantastic. Ohh Leo<3 have fun!!

  23. Crystal on July 18, 2010 at 8:38 pm

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is really good! I’m currently reading the second one in the series.

I can’t wait for the post on how to create a workout schedule. I am horrible with scheduling and end up doing something different allll the time which isn’t as effective.

  24. Michelle @ Give Me the Almond Butter on July 18, 2010 at 8:42 pm

Both my parents have read it. They weren’t too impressed, but they are a tough crowd.

I can’t wait to see what you think of Inception! I’ve heard good things about it. We tried to go see it last night, but everything was sold out except for the super-late show.

  42. Nicole on July 18, 2010 at 11:22 pm

That panini looks fantastic!! I feel like our George Foreman has a panini add on, but I’m too scared to use it. And my hubby has always been turned off with sammies for dinner (sad, sad news) so I’d have to bring George to work for a panini to happen. Haha, I’d look like a doof.

    Have a great week girlie!

This post made me go back all the way to your posts about coping with deployment etc. You’re one smart, strong girl (and I mean it)! My husband is establishing his business and is wayy too busy living his dream, while I stick around to see him succeed, keeping aside my lofty ambitions, given the circumstances. Your blog is exactly what I needed to see things a little brighter, better and clearer. I wish people would stop saying ‘its was your choice’ cause sometimes falling in love is stupid, and when faced with reality – its tough to tell yourself it was a choice. Your heart led you to the only choice there was.
