Quite a beautiful and festive evening over here <3

After Zumba, I came home to make the cinnamon roll dough

dough

(which I just discovered was exploding out of the mixing bowl- a few TurboFire punches took care of that)

and we got ready to head to my dadoo’s house for Christmas Eve dinner.

It’s the first time the Pilot has been able to spend Christmas with my fam, and it was the usual Christmas Eve festivities.

Everyone was over there,

my stepmom had all of their gorgeous holiday decor out

(Sammi!)

and the cousins Christmas costumes. These, by far, were the most hilarious ones yet.

cousins

We always show up in something ridiculous for Christmas- two years ago it was the shirts that look like tuxedos (I wasn’t home for that one), last year we all put on bibs to eat dinner since my cousin Tucker had just been born, and this year it was the Forever Lazy adult footed jammies….

aka the goofiest things ever.

The funny thing is that I think the Pilot really likes his. He said it was warm and comfy, and kind of reminded him of his flight suit.

The best part of the night was getting to spend time with the family, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company- puppy snuggles and gifts were just a bonus <3

Hope everyone is having a wonderful night!

Hot chocolate almond milk and bedtime over here…

I’m still sugar-buzzed from last night.

cookies

(GF ones in the middle, regular on the sides)

Of course, the ones we messed up were dubbed “eaters” ;)

Everyone came over here to decorate the sugar cookies that mom, nana and I made the other night. Before our friends came over, I rolled out the dough

me

(dough creeper)

cut them into snowman, tree, angel, gingerbread man and heart shapes, and baked away.

We ordered pizzas, beer and K cups were consumed (tea for me), and decorated the cookies with green, red and white icing.

The icing was kinda watery, but we made it work ;)

While we were decorating, madre made some bizcochuelos and baked them in the oven… and I caught Bellaboo begging her little heart out before I kicked her out of the kitchen.

begging

Apparently she was feeling brave and sassy after her haircut…

The only grinches were Kyle and the Pilot- they came to decorate during basketball commercial breaks ;)

The last thing I wanted this morning was something sweet after all the sugar I ate last night- my sweet tooth is still waving the white flag. So since we’re out of eggs, I made some plain oats with almond flour mixed in for protein and texture:

The Pilot is off work today (!) so we’re off to a doc appt, last-minute elf errands and the gym :)

See ya later with a Family post <3

Something to think:

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

Dia de los Muertos

November 7, 2011

What a great night   to paint our faces like skeletons and walk around downtown Tucson. Check out how creeptastic the Pilot looked! *shudders* His first time wearing guyliner Hayley and I were painted up, too: Tonight was the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration and parade downtown, so we definitely weren’t [...]

Piece of cakewalk

October 22, 2011

Tonight was a lovely night for a squadron party [the return of hogcorn!!! <---popcorn popped with jalapenos] and a fall festival. The best part? They had a petting zoo, and the Pilot and I got to pet and cuddle multiple goats.   If that’s not the best way to party on a Friday night, I’m [...]

Hi friends How are you? Hope you’re enjoying your Sunday. This morning, we took a little trip to visit my great-nana. Hey! Happy Sunday <3 Hope you’re relaxing and chilling Last night’s shenanigans were a lot of fun. I couldn’t stay at the bridal shower for very long, since I had to meet everyone at the game, but all of the girls from work were there and an amazing spread of food was set out. The [...]

Staycation

September 11, 2011

Hi friends! How’s your night going? We’re on a little staycation Back in May, I grabbed up a LivingSocial deal for a one-night resort getaway –thought it would be something fun for the Pilot and I to do- and we discovered that it expired on Monday. Couldn’t let it go to waste, so we decided [...]
