Fit Tuesday
Hey friends ๐ Howโs your day been?
Mine has been superrr productive! I worked on the book proposal for 3 hours and can confidently say itโs halfway done. Iโd like to get it out to the world before the Pilot gets home ๐
In addition to writing, I caressed the almond butter jar and took a couple of swims.
Yep, Iโm giving up almond butter for Lent.
Not ALL nut butters โIโm not made of stone- but no more dips into the nut butter jar and no AB for 40 days. Itโs going to be a long Lent ๐ Also, during Lent, I always like to DO something instead of just giving something up. Usually itโs judge less, pray more, be nice, not use the F word when I drive, etc. etc., but this year Iโm going to make an effort to volunteer. I donโt volunteer a ton because Iโm a busy bee, but I will make time.
In between my legendary writing sesh, I munched some Protein Fluff. This is a new treat, and all you need is: a scoop of protein powder, a little almond milk to thin it out, a spoonful of almond butter and some chocolate. Heat it up and buckle your seatbelt for a foodgasmic frenzy.
In todayโs protein fluff, I added some mashed sweet potato.
Before heating up:
After:
I know, right? ๐
Salad beast of the day:
Greens, steamed asparagus, goat cheddar, salmon burger with BBQ sauce and balsamic, berries on the side
Fun dinner waiting for tonightโฆ.
Forget Fat Tuesday.. Iโm dubbing it Fit Tuesday and am off to Zumba with besties ๐
See ya in the morning!
xoxo
Gina
Something to talk about: Are you doing the Lent thang? How has today been a FIT Tuesday for you?
Something to read: Mayjah thanks to my friends at WomansDay.com for including me (along with some of my favorite blogger friends) in *this article* on Morning Workout Motivators ๐
I got back into my workout on Fit Tuesday after a week off being under the weather & feeling it today. I’ll decide what I’m doing for Lent today!
I referred to it as a “Give yourself a little treat Tuesday,” but I like “Fit Tuesday” even more! Yesterday was a fit day for me, because I did a fartlek workout on the treadmill!
As of today, I am giving up chocolate for Lent and adding some extra prayer time to my day!
Yep, I’m giving up two things: sugar and negative thinking. I blogged about both this week … I’m actually thinking that the negative thinking will be harder than the sugar! ha ha. And sugar does NOT include fruit or wine, of course. Just the refined stuff that makes my skin freak out and is just not good for you. ๐
Good luck with giving up AB!! Do you cheat on Sundays? The rule is that you can cheat on Sundays, but I never do it. I figure go all in or not at all! ๐
FLUFF? Must.make.now.
P.S. You are too cute. P.P.S. You make me want to have bangs.
you could TOTALLY rock the bangs.
I MISS YOU. that is all ๐
I am doing the Lent thang as well. I’m going to attempt to give up sweets (minus the dark chocolate in my amazeballs… is that bad?) and not skip any of my workouts unless I am injured for whatever reason. I am sometimes guilty of hearing that alarm going off at 5:30 and saying I’ll work out at 5:30 pm instead and of course I never do! I signed up to run a 12 mile race in June and so I need to start some good habits since I’ve never ran that far before; I need all the help I can get! Besides that, I am going to try to reconnect with my spiritual side as I feel that can help with many areas of life. Good luck giving up the AB, that is truly a challenge!
amazeballz don’t count ๐
Ick, I remember the CAP water debacle in the early 90’s. Tucson tap gives me the creeps.
Ooops, wrong post.
That’ll be hard for you but you can do it Gina!
I love it- FIT Tuesday!!! Yesterday, I taught a spin class, I so could have used that!
Almond Butter is going to be tough! Go Gina!
I am also thinking about what I can DO instead of giving up…thinking about making 1 new vegan recipe once a week for dinner- maybe starting with your lentil loaf! Looks yummy!
Hmmm… I think I could give up Almond Butter, but not peanut butter… maybe that’s a sign about what I should try to give up!
I need to eliminate nuts from my diet in general – I think that eating lean meat instead is better choice for me because the nuts and butter seem to set off some over-do-it gene in my body —it seems less health movement to think meat over nuts, but in my case I think it’s a better choice. The only challenge is that I dont have a kitchen and I’m not sure that my rice cooker will be good for meat cooking —I have managed to make it work for a lot of other healthy innovations. Here’s to “making it work” — Hope the brita works out – I didn’t realize how lucky I was to have NYC water till I finally revisited FLorida where I grew up — I could barely drink the water and had to buy bottled while I was there.
Protein fluff-hello lover. Perfect afternoon snack that kept me full for hours and wasn’t bad for me when the sugar monster attacked!! ๐
Good luck with the AB during Lent! I love that you picked something so challenging for yourself. I’m giving up eating out. That includes drinks at the bar (I’m allowing myself water and hot tea, though). I can’t wait to see how much money I save, but I’m more excited to figure out the healthiest, easiest, fastest way to nourish myself with my crazy schedule.
Just catching up on blogs today and saw you are giving up almond butter. I am too! All nut-butters, except I’m keeping PB2 for my oatmeal. I figured it doesn’t count since it is powder. ๐ Good luck!
