Luon for a Cause
Hi friends! How are ya? Hope your morning has been fab.
I started my day off working out with two of my favorite ladies:
Chalene and Zuzana 🙂
There wasn’t enough time to hit up the gym or a class, so I did a lovely 45-minute workout in the living room.
-30 minutes of the TurboFire 45EZ DVD
–Halo of Sweat Workout on BodyRock
It was so fun to bust out TurboFire again, and for the BodyRock workout, I finished the first set and was thinking “Hmmph. That wasn’t to so bad.” By the second set, I was QUIVERING. That put me in my place pretty quickly 😉
Breakfast was delicious, considering what I had to work with:
(We did a pretty good job of cleaning in the fridge! Just in case of emergency, I still have a giant block of goat cheese. The lemon wedge is in there because it keeps the fridge smelling fresh)
I decided to bust out this pack of protein I picked up at Whole Paycheck yesterday, since I’m waiting for my Sun Warrior to get here and the mere thought of the Standard Process dairy-free makes me ill.
I was a little apprehensive because 97% of the time, hemp protein tastes like you just bit into a tree branch.
This one was actually pretty good!
Inspired by Katie’s Banana Bread in a Bowl and Kath’s cereal smoothie, I blended up 1 C brown rice cereal, 1/2 banana, pack of said protein, 1 C almond milk, and topped with the other half of the banana.
It was lovely- tasted almost like Cocoa Krispies, which was my all-time fave cereal back in the day 😀

Luon for a Cause
I was trying to think of something I could do to help with the relief situation in Japan –watching the news footage is devastating- and remembered the very successful Shop 4 A Cause that Angela has done.
What do you guys think about Luon for a Cause?
I’ll have an auction next Thursday for all of your gently-loved lululemon gear you’d like to donate. If you donate the items, you will also be donating the shipping cost to send your item to the winning bidder. It will be a great way to try out some new fun stuff, especially for those of you who have been wanting to try lululemon.
100% of the proceeds will go to Red Cross <3
If you would like to participate, please send a pic of what you’d like to donate (no damages, please!) and a description with the size to fitnessista at gmail dot com subject: Luon for a Cause
I’m off to an appointment, then hitting the road to Phoenix!
See ya there 😀
xoxo
Gina
What a great idea! I’ve never tried Lulemon, but maybe I’ll bid on the prize! You’ll have to give us a link when it’s posted!
I love the taste of hemp protein – it’s like a nutty flavor!
It’s always hard to figure out how we can help, but I love that idea!
Oooh I can’t wait to shop! I LOVE all my lulu stuff, so I can’t imagine parting with it!! 🙂 But I can shop!!
Awesome idea Gina!!! I just recently started my Luon collection, but I do have one top that is too big, I’ll email a pic today! I am interested in buying some thought! I can’t wait.
great idea, Japan needs everyones help right now! so sad.
I need to try some of those living room workouts 😛
have a safe drive! Is bella coming along?
This is such a great idea!! I wish I had more Lulu stuff, but the things I do own get far too much use for me to part with. I’m definitely looking forward to shopping, though!!
What a great idea!
It would be so amazing if everyone did their part… even just $10… 🙂
Awesome idea! I just got my first Lululemon stuff over the weekend (my “reward” for *finally* meeting my goal weight, eek!) and I can’t wait to add to my collection. Shopping for a good cause? I’m always in 😉
Have a safe trip!
Grest idea! I have some tops that I no longer wear that can be donated.
Wow Zuzana has an amazing body! I should start BodyRock 🙂
Luon for a cause is such a great idea!! I will totally support it.
I have been dying to try some of this stuff but find it hard to justify the price tag! Hopefully I’ll win something!
I love that BodyRock workout! Just did it yesterday AM! 🙂
That sounds like a great idea! I don’t have the $ for lululemon but this would be perfect and an awesome way to help. I love your pink laptop btw.
jesus zuzanna’s body is redonkulous. like how did she even get it that ripped? only eating protein? i’m genuinely curious haha
Girl this is a great idea for sure!!! I hope you have a safe trip today!! xoxo <3
Great idea! I don’t have any Lululemon clothes to donate, but I would definitely buy something. Always wanted to try them out, but we just can’t afford it. I’ve been trying to figure out how else to help Japan, so this is perfect. I’ll definitely buy! =)
Fitty (can I call you Fitty?), You are so selfless- this is such a good idea 🙂 I don’t have any lulu to donate but I will be bidding on some fo sho.
That’s a fantastic idea! I may have to bid on everything, budget-willing.
I’m totally loving on that brown rice toast by the way, it’s so good!
I love your sunny orange Brita peeking out of the fridge!! 🙂
Great idea for the auction!
Also…I HATE when my fridge looks like that!! 🙁
I have to admit I think it sounds really gross to wear someone’s used (even if only lightly used) workout clothes. I will donate to the cause, though!
quite a few people wear lululemon more to hang out than workout. the clothes wash really well and many are antibacterial, so i wouldn’t think twice about wearing someone else’s lulu gear.
a lot of girls at auditions wear it – I think because some of them have worked there and get discounts – some of the zip ups I really like – the cut looks cgreat, but I dont have any. I find some good athletic wear at TJ Maxx too, and it’s usually more unique since they are past season or whatever — more my price range! I know what you mean, you’re just gonna sweat it up!
Great idea! I can’t wait to bid : )
Don’t worry, Katie…I am going to try to donate some new clothing 🙂 lol
This is a great idea! I don’t have any lululemon since there isn’t one any where near me.. but I would be willing to bid!
“97% of the time, hemp protein tastes like you just bit into a tree branch.”–
LOL and so true! Every time I write about hemp protein, I always say it tastes a bit too…”earthy” for my taste and I get a bunch of comments wondering what I mean. The words dirty and gritty come to mind 🙂 But…the Hempshake stuff IS way better than most, I agree. I loved Cocoa Krispies, too, as a kid. Oh yes please!
The cause and donation efforts is awesome, Gena. Unfortunately I don’t own except 2 pieces of Lulu…a pair of pants and a sports bra. I wear them both quite a bit so not really donation-worthy items but I have made some donations online to the Red Cross even if I don’t have any lulu stuff for you. Great idea though!
Have fun in Phoenix…I know you girls are gonna have the best time! (I just sniff the biggest blogger meetup ever :))
Gina, I always read but never comment. This is an EXCELLENT idea. I definitely have some luon in my closet that I can donate to the cause. I will go home and look tonight! I love that you’re using lulu to help people affected by the horrific tragedy in Japan.
I think that’s such a great idea Gina! I don’t have any to give away, but I’d gladly bid on some!
And I had to laugh about your hemp protein and tree branch comment, because although I’ve never tried it, I’ve heard that it’s definitely not the tastiest!! Glad to hear yours was ok though! 🙂
Great idea! I have lots of Lululemon so I’ll go through my stuff and see if there’s something I can donate!
Great idea Gina — I don’t have any lulu pieces, but I’m excited to see what will be up for bid!
That’s a great idea Gina! I don’t own any Luon, so I guess I’ll just have to change that when this comes together 😉 Thanks for the lemon wedge idea — didn’t know that!
This is a great idea! I have a ton of lulu stuff from my years as an educator, but I’m not sure any of it is in good enough condition to sell. I’ll have to take a look tonight.
The reptile exercises (reptile pushups & reptile walk) are BRUTAL
i had a hard time with those ones- had to modify
What a great idea! Talk about a great cause. It breaks my heart to see the footage of Japan.
Such a unique, fun idea!
Holy abs on Zuzana!! 😯 I don’t have any lululemon gear, but it’s a great idea!
Mmmm!
That Zuzana chick…those aren’t real, right? Cause that just wouldn’t be fair.
i think her body in general just isnt fair 🙂
that is way cool- what a fun idea!! Have a good trip 🙂
What a great thing you’re doing to help those in Japan. I’m still a bit shaken up about it, I’ve had a fascination with Japanese culture since I was a kid. My grandfather was stationed there after WWII. It just breaks my heart.
Also, an amazing opportunity for those of us without a lululemon store nearby.
I think you should do a macaroon raffle (:
every lululemon piece im donating will come with 6 macaroons 🙂
Best thing I’ve heard all day!
That’s an awesome idea, Gina!
Yum, I need to try the hemp shake! I like the nutritional value of hemp protein, but the flavor lacks compared to Sun Warrior. And the cause idea is great.
Oh my gosh this is an awesome idea!!!
I love love love this idea, Gina! I will definitely bid!
Have you heard about the tragedy at the Lululemon in Bethesda, Maryland? I was surprised given your connection to Lulu to not see a mention in a post about it. It is so tragic.
Great idea! I don’t own ANY yet so I would definitely bid if they are my size!!
I wish I could afford any Lululemon products- so kind of you to help in any way!
I don’t have anything to donate but I’ve been wanting some Lululemon workout pants/capris for a long time now! I don’t currently have any but keep hearing awesome things about it. I can’t wait for the auction!! What a great idea!
Loving the luon for a cause! Wish I had something to donate 🙁
I’m SO in!!! I’ve wanted Lulu for months but simply couldn’t afford it. This is a great deal and a lovely cause.
