Zumba with me! “Se Le Ve”
One week in and I’ve already dined out.. during Dine-In December.
It was a long day at work and I had no idea what I was going to cook for dinner, feeling a little apprehensive after the tempeh fail. A good friend asked me to join her for dinner after Liv was already in bed, and since the Pilot was home, I was able to go out and enjoy a lovely meal. It was all healthy food, I didn’t have to make it (or ruin it? haha), and she treated me. My two main caveats for Dine-In December were easily fixed with this one meal.. and I feasted my heart out.
Salad bar, the above shrimp, calamari, soup and dessert (raspberry sorbet).
And then, my food baby and I filmed a little Zumba video for you 😉
The response was so great last week– thank you so much for letting me know that you liked it!- that I figured it would be fun to do another one. It’s a great option for at-home cardio, and I’d love to eventually have enough Zumba videos up to make up an entire cardio workout. How fun would that be?! In the meantime, feel free to enjoy this one along with any of the Tabata Thursday videos, ab burners or the Holiday HIIT.
For copyright reasons, I muted out the song. You can watch it on the YouTube video below (if you open it in another video and pause it, you can easily start it to sync up at the indicated time in the video)– I also included a little preview of the chorus with the music so you know where it should match up. I’m sorry that it’s such a pain, so please let me know if you have any other ideas to make it work.
This one is a salsa/reggaeton (salsaton!). Hope you enjoy and as always, I love to hear what you’d like to see on the blog or future YouTube videos. Your feedback means the world to me 🙂
Happy shaking,
Gina
If you could do any fitness event this weekend, what would you choose? I’m itching to do another Zumbathon after the one we did a few weeks ago.
You make me want to get into Zumba! Never tried it before (I’m a terrible dancer) but I know you don’t have to be an advanced dancer to go. I need to suck it up and try it because it looks like a blast. Maybe I’ll try yours at home first before going to a real class 🙂
im trying zumba for the first time this weekend! wish me luck 🙂
Hi Gina! I love all of your videos. They are super fun and I appreciate how much work must go into those. Which is why I feel bad about this request… I’ve never taken Zumba and even though I’ve danced my whole life and can quickly pick up on choreography, the one thing that is missing from these videos are the voice cues that are so helpful in dancing. If it is possible to do a voiceover or even text cues at the bottom of the screen telling us what is to come next, that would be so super helpful. It would also help us newbies learn the Zumba terms!
Thanks!!
hey girl! i make the videos similar to a live zumba class- we’re actually not supposed to use verbal cueing, only physical. it’s one of those things where the more you do it, the easier it gets. you’ll get the feel for it, and certain moves will always repeat within songs
xoxo
oh good to know! I’ll just have to play it on repeat!
Awe, thank you for making this video! I love it and I use to absolve one of your ab burners after every workout I do at home. They’re great!! And yumm, that dinner looks delicious, I love scampi. Happy Weekend!!
I am planning to do some Zumba tonight at home. I really new to get to my real Zumba class but this is the next best thing.
Ah I love it! Thanks so much for this girly!
I am so not a dancer but I loved doing this! Pinned 🙂
YOGA!! Did a little stretch this morning and now that our friends who we’re visiting this weekend have a house with a guest room, I’ll have plenty of sun salutation space. 🙂
Love this, thank you so much! I’m new to Zumba so these at home options are great for me and make me feel more confident when I go to class. I suffer from lack of rhythm but Zumba is such a blasty it doesn’t matter! 🙂
it’s just for fun, anyway- if you’re moving, you’re burning calories 🙂
So fun — love “Dance Cardio” with Gina! 😉
I love a little booty shakin’ to get my day going.
🙂
I don’t think my hips will ever move like that, but its always fun to try!
Love it Gina! Keep the Zumba videos coming!
Super random question too but your sneakers look super comfy for Zumba…what kind are they??
Love itttttt…I wrote before that I am new to Zumba, but love the class! Despite the fact that I have n ocoordination and am probably the worst one there I still go! I have no prior dance experience which is not in my favor, but I don’t feel judged so it’s all good! Maybe one day I will be able to move as well as you with some practice….?! Haha, probably not!
You’re definitely making me want to Zumba!
Great video. I thought the dual window thing for the music would be difficult, but the cues made it super easy. It was a fun Friday a.m. wake me up while I was falling asleep at work (I work from a home office, so no coworkers to think I’m crazy)
You’re such a good salsa dancer!! I want to try this but still letting my ankle heal.
Also–sorry to bother you again–I sent you another Facebook message. Thanks 🙂
Hi Gina, I have always being wanting to try Zumba, but the footworks looks..ugh.. impossble. Are there set moves for Zumba that I can learn step by step?
Thank you!
what is the sauce underneath the shrimp?
That workout dance thing looks fun or you make it look easier…………….:)
Just had to say I went over to Trader Joe’s………..stocked up on good eats and had to get a bag of the dark choc. pb sea salt carmel truffles and a small bag at the checkout of the dark choc. pb cups for .99 both are delish! Stopped for wine at TJ’s and happily went home.
LOVE ZUMBA!! as you know I teach also 🙂 great choreo girl!
thanks! 🙂
Gina! I did my first ever zumba class on Tuesday and I absolutely LOVED it! it was like a party at the gym! A friend convinced me to go with her and I was apprehensive (I have zero coordination) but I made up for my lack of ability with maximum enthusiasm! I love your blog, especially the posts from when you were pregnant because I am a student midwife (midwifery is an honours degree subject in the UK)!x
It’s c’est la vie
Not if you’re speaking in espanol
loved your zumba video; it rocked!
i do have one minor suggestion, i’m not much of a dancer so it would’ve been better if you provided play by play instructions.
Oh yes! I really had a lot of fun with your last zumba video that I actually watched one of your older ones (where you were teaching a class) and tried to follow along. It’s definitely a lot of fun, and makes trying a class less intimidating. Thanks!!
I’ve tried Zumba twice now! While I’m not the greatest at it I do think I could get better and love going. I’m going to try these videos when I get a minute one day at home! Maybe it will help me practice lol
It helped so much more that you posted the YouTube video of the song along with the video of your routine. Much easier than trying to find the correct video on YouTube! 🙂
yay, i’m glad!
Great Zumba video. I go to health club that offers it, but never tried it. I feel awkward .
Thx again
