Taking the Plunge
Hiiiii ๐ Howโs your day been? Mine has been frantic but fantastic.
Weโre taking the plunge.
After a weekend of back-and-forth negotiations with the bank, today we said โeff it, letโs do thisโ, accepted their last offer and got the ball rolling today. Since interest rates are low and itโs a short sale, itโs going to take around 45 days to close, but then weโll be in OUR HOUSE!!! Weโve waited this long, so whatโs 45 more days? Thatโs a drop in the bucket, my friends.
This will be ours in the beginning of July:
Bellaโs wearing a new shirt to celebrate:
[It says tree hugger, haha]
Sheโs going to love having a yard to run around in!
Also, I canโt wait:
-to grill
-to be able to paint, change fixtures, do whatever the heck we want without asking permission
-to open the POD and decorate again
-to throw dinner parties again!!!
45 days. We can make it until then ๐ [And this is the last youโll hear of our house woes until we move in. Wahoo!]
This morning, I started off the day by teaching YogaTone. We did LOTS of lunges and chatarunga push-ups- Iโm a little sore already! I used the same playlist as I used last week and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. Iโll be sure to change it up for next weekโs class.
Breakfast:
Gluten-free vanilla sunrise cereal with almond milk, 1/2 banana and cinnamon
After yoga, I dropped the car off to be serviced at the dealership, which is a PAIN, but the good news is that they had a loaner to give me for the day. I think I found the Pilotโs next car? Heh heh.
So I have to show you guys this new-to-me hummus that Iโm obsessed with:
Guacamole hummus! Itโs like my two favorite things had a baby- it makes me very happy ๐ You can find it at Trader Joeโs, in the cold section, next to the other hummus, salsa-type goodies.
Weโre off to pick the car up and then hit the gym!
Have a lovely night and Iโll see ya in the morning ๐
xoxo
Gina
Something to talk about: What are you most looking forward to this summer? Have a fun vacation planned? Grilling? Summer produce? Pool parties? ๐
CONGRATS, Gina + Pilot (and Bella!). I am so excited for you… we’re currently looking, and it’s an exciting crazy roller coaster!
Yay! ๐
What a beautiful house, Congratulations!!!!
I’m going to Bombay, India for three weeks in a couple of weeks to visit one of my best friends, so that’s what I am most looking forward to this summer ๐
Congrats!!! You are such a grownup. You’d flip if you saw what I live in.

Woo hoo! Congrats on the house. I am very excited for you.
Congratulations on the new house!
CONGRATS YOU TWO!! That’s so exciting!! I’m excited to just chill for awhile before starting my next step in July. And, of course, I’m excited for HLS later this summer ๐
Congratulations! I’m so excited to hear all the deets about the new house ๐
I’ve passed by that hummus & wasn’t sure if I would like it or not, but I now will give it a try! I heart TJ’s so much.
guacamole hummus is so good!
Congrats!!! you won’t regret it. that house looks beautiful, i’m so excited for you. it will be awesome to get YOUR stuff out of the pod and begin to live a normal life! since the pilot will be stickin around. so nice.
Congrats on the house!!! Glad you decided go for it.
As for the guac hummus, it’s so funny you posted it because I tried it for the 1st time 10 days ago and cannot stopped talking about it. 2 of my fav foods in one cute package! !
congrats! the next 45 days will fly by. I hope the play set was part of the deal:)
I answered this question on another blog today…but because you asked…I’m most looking forward to getting married this summer ๐ and heading off to the honeymoon!
Congrats Gina and Pilot (and Bella)! I hope the rest of the process goes smoothly so you can be in your new HOME in no time–you totally deserve it ๐ This summer I’m looking forward to my trip to Hawaii–I leave in 2weeks for 10 days with family and my boyfriend (his first time too). June 8th can’t get here fast enough!!!
woohoo a home owner! Looks beautiful, can’t wait to see it after all your stuff and personal touches are added!
Enjoy! That guac hummus looks wonderful, wish we had a Trader Joes!
Congrats on the house!
I was looking at purchasing my own condo earlier this year with some help with a down payment from my parents but they are having their own house trouble and needed that money to fix a cracked foundation. My condo shopping has been put on hold. I can’t wait to have a place to call my own and doesn’t feel like a dungeon like my current apartment.
I also look forward to the time I can share living space with a handsome man whom I’m in love like you and the Pilot <3
Yay!!! 45 days will go by in no-time! We’re already almost half way through the year, look how fast that went! Congrat’s on the house!
mmmmmm! avocado hummus! i’ve also purchased it (just a different brand) at Target. it is very, very delicious! congrats on the house.
Congratulations! I’m most looking forward to being out in the SUN whenever I so desire ๐ Ah, the freedom to be outside again…
Frantic but fantastic…I love it! What wonderful news! Congratulations!
Guacamole Hummus…mmm…will have to try soon!
Have a Fantastic, not Frantic evening! ๐
Liz
Awesome and Congratulations to you both! have a great evening.
Congratulations! *fingers crossed* that the 45 days go by quick!
Congratulations on the new house!!!! So exciting! And thanks for the tip about the guacamole hummus. I’m definitely picking some up on my weekly Trader Joe’s run. ๐
My boyfriend and I are actually moving in the beginning of July also! ๐ We are selling our condo, moving into an apartment, and saving up to [hopefully] move to either Austin, TX or Charleston, SC within the next year! ๐
Congrats, Gina!!!!!!! What fabulous news, I am soooo happy for you both! I know you’ve been wanting, wishing, and dreaming about this house and soon, it will be yours. MAJOR CONGRATS!!!!!
Hummus + guac IS a great combo. But I have my eye on those tomatoes…like caprese salad “sandwich” tomatoes. They look delish!
Awh yay for finally getting the house! That’s great for you guys! =D
What am I looking forward to this summer? The road trips with friends, getting tan, laying out by the beach, and just staying busy ๐ I have summer school Monday/Wednesday which I’m surprisingly excited for as well because it’s going to be 2hrs of AEROBICS! I can’t wait! I also start my 10k plan this summer since I’ll be running August 27th! I’m so nervous for that one!
Congratulations! Let the countdown begin.. and then you get to make it your own! So happy for you and the pilot!
CONGRATS to you, gina, and to the pilot! so glad this worked out for you. 45 days? that’s nothing compared to your time apart…at least you can be together to count down to house possession!
it’s going to be a great summer…long days, hot weather – – > i’m just going to make each day the best it can be, as cheesy as that sounds!
Ohhh I cannot buy that cereal. I want to devour the whole box in one sitting – so good.
CONGRATS LADY! Nothing beats having your own house. Good for you!
I own a house in Oregon but we rent here in LA and Gosh do I miss it. ๐
Watch, cuz you will be living at the Home Depot and Bed, Bath, and Beyond the first few months!
CONGRATS!!!! These 45 days will be the slowest ever (and the last few days before you close might be the most frustrating ever — but it will be so worth it).
Too funny – I just tried guacamole hummus today for the first time! They had it at Hummus Hut (was that place around when you lived in Orlando?). SOOOO good.
Congratulations! That interior shot is so lovely!
I can’t wait for late summer evening bike rides, and heirloom tomatoes ๐ Oh, and nectarines!
whoa, congratulations!!! It’s GORGEOUS!!
CONGRATZ! That’s a huge and very exciting step!
I’m looking forward to a week long camping trip by Lake Michigan with my best girlfriends. Nothing like friends and vacation <3
Congrats on the house!!!!! I saw that avocado hummus the other day – I almost bought it!
That’s awesome!! I can’t wait to see your decorating and painting adventures ๐
I’m pretty excited about going to the Zumba convention this summer! I’ve never been to Florida and I’m going with a friend (she hasn’t been there either) not enough time for Disney World but we’re hitting up Seaworld! I’m also excited because we are finishing our basement. We’re making it into a Media/Exercise room which I’m super pumped about too!
AND I’m excited about having only 8 classes/week all summer, I’ve been teaching 15-20/week all year so it’ll b a nice break for me.
Congrats!
I am looking forward to spending more time with my family this summer. I also have several weddings to attend this summer that should be very fun. ๐
I love it when people tell me things they found at TJ’s that they love. We should start a wikispace/blog where everyone posts recent new finds so we can all share the TJ’s love.
Congrats on moving forward with the house!!! How exciting!
Major congrats!! I know how exciting it feels..but tad stressful too! ๐ That vanilla GF cereal is one of my favorites, ever!
I went to TJ’s today and bought their white bean and basil hummus… so good, you should check it out next time you are there. Oh, congrats btw!
congrats on the house!! I’m so excited for you.
and I’ve been eyeing that guac hummus – gonna have to try it now!
Heck to the stinkin’ yeah!!! Congrats on the new place.
Congraaaats on the house!!! Summer for me is all about being outside having parties, cookouts, bonfires, etc. I love it and can’t wait to start! ๐
Congratulations!! The house looks beautiful.
I am looking forward to my brother’s wedding:)
Congrats!! House looks beeautiful!!! ๐
SO exciting:) Congrats, Gina!
Congrats on the house! I’m definitely looking forward to hitting up the farmers market this summer, laying on the beach, learning to paint, and making art in what my town calls “the open space” with my cousin. I’m also going to try really hard to find at least one new recipe a week to fix.
Woo! Congrats on the new home! How exciting! Can’t wait to read about all the decorating and other fun stuff that comes with buying a home!
And guacamole hummus – where has that been my whole life?!
So jealous of the guacamole hummus! That sounds delicious. We don’t have Trader Joe’s in New York though ๐ That’s okay I guess though, because I wouldn’t trade Wegmans for anything – now I will just have to get creative and make my own guac-hummus!
I’m most looking forward to my family reunion/cousin’s wedding at the end of June – I have such a huge family spread all across the country so we don’t get to see eachother very often!
Congrats on your house!
